August grossed about the same as in July in dollar volume but the number of shares involved was considerably less, according to summaries compiled by Brokerage Information Service. August trading involved 273,524 shares valued at $305,934. This compares with July volume of 389,071 shares with a valuation of $306,152. In August, 1952, 311,185 shares aggregating 395,153 in value were traded. Leading traders, in terms of dollar value were Polaris with a total of $60,89, Pend Oreille with $58,-85- 4 and Bunker Hill with $57,980. Independence Lead, Grandview and Sunset Minerals topped the list in number of shares traded, with totals of 64,281, 24,250 and ' respectively. Sales during August board sessions amounted to only 79,124 shares for $36,669.
