This new level would be .1800 leet below the main adit level, which is the 600. ' .The planned project will represent the first new depth development at . the old mine since early in the century. The property is one ol the districts oldest and between 1897 and 1906 yielded, about 1,000,000 tons ol ore. .The Federal: Company acquired it in 1912 and operated it for a short time in 1915 and 1916. Following that it was Idle, except lor leasing opera tions, lor over a quarter ol a century. In 1942 the company reopened it and since that time has been unwatering and rehabilitating old workings, finally, reaching the deepest old level, the 2200, this year. Old. levels were put Into production as soon as rehabilitation and last year when ore was being mined from every .level from the 600 to the 2000, the annual production totaled 84,907 tons, averaging 4.3 per cent lead, 1 t sine and 1.35 ounces ol silver ,per ton. .The long-idl- e property, durbefore it was coming 1950, pletely reopened, .ranked only a little below the Morning mine as a source of income for the Federal firm. Earnings, from the Frisco operation, before deductions for depletion, depreciation and taxes, were $617,258 as compared with $681,477 from .the Morning . er 6-- mine. per-cen- . Mote. Announcement of the three-ceannual dividend resulted in a sharp . break in the com on the Spokane expanys stock ' Last change. year the annual six .cents a share, was payment and the market break would indicate that a similar amount was expected tills, year. However, it will be recalled that when last- - years dividend was announced it was explained that the action was dictated largely by managements desire tp make payment up' the three-cent .
