Show T"." October 3, 1947 Canada Firm Shows Higher Mine Profits NEW YORK, N. Y. Cons. Mining and Smelting Co. of Canada Ltd., recently declared dividends totaling $3.25 a share. This compared with $2.25 in January and $2 in July 1946. The increased 'distribution reflects the favorable operations for the company for the year to date. Last April, R. E. Stavast, president, reported that lead and sine production was higher and .that an active demand continued for practically all the firms products. He said, selling prices were holding at the high 1946 levels and that these , prices mainly reflected the export markets. About two thirds of Cons. Smelters' production is sold for export and the remainder for domestic consumption.. Canadian prices for lead, zinc and copper were recently adde- -. justed upward as a result ox reacontrol measures and it is sonable to assume that revenues from domestic sales at the year- -' end will show a corresponding . increase. Canadian Pacific Railway Co., ' which owns more than 50 per cent of Cons. Smelter .outstanding stock, will bolster its ment income considerably as a result of the increased dividend. :r: r Tr The Western Mineral Survey Soft Loke City, Utoh' ' NOTICK TO CKEDITOKS ESTATE OF Catherine ' Pearl Smt in.
