The announcement was made by Sen. Wallace F. Bennett at a meeting of leading Utah cattlemen and government drouth experts in Salt Lake City. The program was made public shortly afterward by Secretary of Agriculture Ezra Taft Benson. The program of buying hamburger wil be particularly helpful to producers of grass-fecattle such as those in Utah, Sen. Bennett told the grbup, since the program was designed to buy particularly that type of beef. This will get many of these cattle off the market, and this should have a beneficial effect on prices generally, Sen. Bennett said. Members of the group agreed that the program would be helpful to cattle growers in Utah.
