It is truly important to have highly responsible men of known business success as the directing heads of any concern. No business is better than its management, and in that regard, BINGHAM STANDARD approaches the perfect. The officers aad directors are conservative business men not plungers or gambler and they are investing their own capital in Bingham Standard, are capable of, and win see the mine through to full development. J. C. Alien, President, ii also Vice President and General Manager of the Cok onial Building and Loan Association, Ogden, Utah. Mr. Allen took that company some eight years ago when it was a small struggling concern and built it up to the largest company of its kind in the State. Mr. Allen is also officer and director of a number of other companies and holds controlling stock in several successful building and loan companies. Wm. Thornton, is the owner of the popular Thornton Chain of Vice-Preside- ' drug stores. James A. Nelson, Director, is an owner of the Great Basin Grain Company, Ogden, Utah, a large successful business built up by Mr. Nelson. L. L Larson, Director, is one of Salt Lake City's moet prominent and influential men, a substantial investor in Bingham Standard and responsible for substantial Investments in the company on the part of many of his friends F. E. Turner, Consulting Engineer and directing head of the company, is also General Superintendent of the Ohio Copper Company, Bingham, Utah. E. B. Jones, Director and Superintendent and directly in charge of the work et the mine, has been connected with the engineering department of some of Utahs largest and most successful mines. One of Salt Lake's leading geologists in reporting on Bingham Standard prop- -' erty states in part aa follows: . ORE BODIES I find that in the . feet there isn't a quarter of an inch that is not highly mineralized. Scattered throughout this bod are grains of Pyrite and Sulphides, which contain a notable amount of lead, silver, gold and zinc. In the main, howGalena. Following ever, the major mineralization is composed of a e contact a replacement deposit occurs. This ore averages about along the 3 feet in width and haa been opened along the strike of the vein for a distance of about 80 feet. This vein is of good grade commercial ore and careful sampling shows assay values averaging around $30:00 per ton in lead, silver, gold and zinc. There is, in my opinion, a splendid chance for this entire dike to make into ore of shipping grade when cut by the lower tunnel, which would expose a very large tonnage of shipping ore; because the upper tunnel seems to be started on a level which merely skims over the top of an apparently large ore body. This ie very evident because an examination of the top and bottom of the upper tunnel itself discloses that the ore at the bottom of the upper tunnel widens out from the aides of the bottom and narrows up considerably at tbe top of the tunnel, all within a radius of 10 feet And in this connection I wish to emphasize the fact that the highest grade streak of oer in the entire mine was apparently discovered by accident because the whole streak apparently runs parallel with the dike about 6 inches below the bottom of the tunnel. In other words, the tunnel level seems to have merely skimmed over the top of this high grade streak. How big or what this streak will show can only be determined by the lower tunnel. However, its shows a width of about 18 inches at present. Extensive surface trenching dislcoses the fact that the dike runs the entire length of the property. 32 fine-grain- ed lime-ston- This property enjoys advantages that are seldom found in mining. FIRST. The monzonite in itself is sufficiently mineralized to be good material and its altered nature makes it an easy milling proposition. SECOND. The lime in contact is so well brecciated that the hydrothermos action which carried the metalliferous substance that caused tha complete infllteration of mineral matter is of such a nature that once entered on the lower level, there would be little, if any, dead-wor-k necessary, thereby reducing enormously Die overhead expense. Five hundred tons of mineral could be handled and milled easier in this property than two hundred tons in the average mine. ' . TRANSPORTATION Five-to- n trucks can make four or five trips a day to tha railroad station. CONCLUSION All the facts gathered indicate that this property should develop into a large , solutions having been strong and extensive and producing mine, the mineral-bearin- g the geological conditions very favorable for the deposition at high grade commercial ore.
