Salt Lake Junior Academy, a Seventh Day Adventist parochial school, expects to students register Aug. 27 prior to starting school year the 1980-860-7- 1 Sept. 2. The offers accredited school coed for first through tenth graders, schooling excluding special education. The academy has an open admissions policy and accepts nonchurch members who are cleared by the admissions board. If the students are doing passing work and from the Seventh Day Adventist church, in addition to tuition fees. The academy, located at 965 E. 3370 South is also funded by private donations. The parochial school will average 12 to 15 students per class. We operate on a basic principle of efficiency and getting something done, commented Reeder, who at work, Reeder explained. Upon graduation from the academy, nearly 50 percent of the students complete eleventh and twelfth grades at local high schools, according to Reeder, and the other 50 percent travel to church boarding schools in Colorado, Idaho or California. The Junior Academy plans to open a preschool session within the next year, according to principal Thure Terry Martinsen.
