Bessie Joseph Michael Robert Harmon Michael Robert Harmqn has accepted a call to serve an LDS mission to Kobe, Japan and entered the training center yesterday, September 21st. His farewell meeting wa3 held September 18th in the Jordan North 5th ward, and he greeted family and friends at his home following the meeting. The future missionary is a graduate of Granger high where he participated on the football and baseball teams. He has attended the University of Utah and has been employed by Coca Cola Bottlong Co. Mike is the son of Mr. Mrs. Dan Harmon, and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Harmon, West Valley City, and Mr. and Mrs E J. Edvalson of Boise, Idaho. Clinton was bom to Edward Ella Farrell in Murray on September 17, 1908, where she has remained a life . long resident. She was married to the late Cameron Tuckett on March 16, 1927 in th Salt Lake LDS Temple. Cameron on passed away September 12, 1973 and July 9, 1986 she and Gerrard K. Nickel of Murray were wed. C. and Gunderson II Clinton C. Gunderson II is returning home after serving an LDS mission in Louisville, Kentucky. His report meeting will be held in the Western Hills 2nd ward, 5350 W. 5400 South, Kearns, at 9 a.m. on October 9th. The returning missionary is the son of Max and Rosalie Gunderson, and a Kearns high graduate. He is the grandson of Norma D. Gunderson of Salt Lake. Mrs. Nickel is the mother of two: Dr. Glen (Josephine) Tuckett of Provo and Larry (Mary) Tuckett of Ogden. She has nine grandchildren and Bessie has lead a vigorous and varied life. She is a member of the Murray 3rd LDS ward where she has served in many capacities, one of which was a full time mission to North Carolina following the passing of her husband Cameron. She has been employed by the American Linen Company, Bennett Glass and is a member of both the Murray Civic Guild and Murray Womens Clubs. Her hobbies include knitting and crocheting and she is a life sports long fan, regularly attending the Brigham Young University sports. Her son Dr. Glen Tuckett is the athletic director at BYU and is a former baseball coach. Her son, Larry Tuckett of Ogden is the owner and operator of Tucketts Petting Zoo, which is a collection of special and exotic animals. is known Larry Western United throughout States for his unique business which creates exhibits and educational activities for Malls, schools and other establishments. She takes great pride in the two success of her sons accomplishments. William "Bill" Kenley William John "Bill" Kenley has accepted a call to serve an LDS mission to Osaka, Japan, and will enter the training center on September 28. His farewell meeting will be held in the Western Hills 1st LDS ward, 5133 Heath Avenue, at 9 a.m. on September 25. The future missionary is the son of Lynn and Jean Kenley and they are inviting friends and family to their home, 5233 Heath Avenue, following the meeting. Bill is a 1988 graduate of Kearns high where he served as student body president and lettered in football. He is a 1988 inductee into the American Academy of Achievement and a recipient of the U.S. Congressional service award. He has earned his Eagle Scout award and a brother, David, is currently serving an LDS mission in Taipei, Taiwan. His grandmothers are Annie West Valley City and Manetta Hansen of Richfield. Kenley, Merle E. Smith Honored On Eighth Decade Olive G. Petersen Olive G. Petersen of Midvale celebrate her 80th birthday on September 24th with an open house. The event will be hosted by her children at the Midvale East 1st ward, 240 E. 7570 South, from 1 to 4 p.m.. Olive was bom on September 24, 1908 in Parker Idaho to Walter Edgar and Geneva Loretta Beckstead. She married Norman M. Petersen on December 23, 1931 in Salt Lake and their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She is the mother of four children, Dell Petersen, Sandy; Val Petersen, Riverton; Gayle Thompson, West Jordan and Lola Beth now Mower, Murray, deceased. She has 18 grandchildren and 17 Olive was a school hunch worker in the Jordan school district for several years. She served in various church ward and stake organizations. Michael T. Cordova David Ray Visser David Ray Visser, son of Richard and Carolyn Visser, of Taylorsville has attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He is a member of Troop No. 736 of the Taylorsville 19th LDS ward with Barry Phillips, Les Ashby and Tim Taylor as his scoutmasters. David has earned 24 merit hadjes and for his service project he raised the money and made 10 round table tops for the Granger 9 th and 19 th wards. He is a student at Eisenhower were he is on the citizenship honor roll. He played soccer and took first place in the Dick Nourse Cancer Kick Off in 1985, took 2nd place in the Commissioners Cup in 1988 and has refereed for soccer for three years. David has earned his Faith in God, Arrow of Light, On My Honor, Duty to God and World Conservation Awards. He is a member of the Order of Arrow, is a Silver Moccasin graduate and mile participated in the 50-2- 0 hike, which is 50 miles in 20 hours. Cordova, son of Thomas R. and Beverly Cordova of Montana and Colstrip, grandson of Violet Cordova of Holladay, has attained the rank of Eagle Scout. Michael is a member of Troop No. 360 of the Colstrip LDS ward, with Allen Baner and Monty Bilbro as his Scoutmasters. He has earned 21 merit badges and for his service project he cleaned and the painted handicapped parking and parking stalls at the Post Office and CARPA. He is a freshman student at Colstrip high where he is an honor student and active in sports and music. Michael has earned his On My Honor award and has been an assistant patrol leader, patrol leader, assistant senior patrol leader and senior patrol leader. Merle was born on September 25, 1908 in Salt Lake to Ashton Eldredge and Clara Hulse and on November 28, 1928 she married her childhood sweetheart, A. Floyd Smith. Their marriage was later solomnized in the Salt Lake LDS Ellen Karr BURIED. Ellen Margaret Kelly Karr, 72, Friday in Valley View Memorial Park following services at Kearns 4th ward. She died Sept. 12, 1988. Born Aug. 2, 1916 to William J. and Ethel Spiers Stewart Kelly. Married Archie L. Poarch, later divorced. Married April 7, 1943 to Wendell D. Karr in Salt Lake LDS Temple. Survivors include children, Altus L. Poarch, Mesa; Alvin L. Poarch, Sandy; Mrs. Cleta B. Spratt, West Jordan; Mrs. Kenneth (Brenda) Kroon, Calif.; Wendell H. Scott Dangerfield Scott Richard Dangerfield, 41, BURIED. Wednesday in Sunset Gardens. He died Sept. 17, 1988. Born Nov. 6, 1946 to Ramon D. and Arline Lamboume Dangerfield. Served in U.S. Air Force, including duty in Vietnam. Married in 1972 to Tamara Jensen, divorced. Married in March, 1987 to Shaunna Naylor Croft.
