The 1977 campaign report was given by Stanley M. Smedley, local attorney, who was the County Campaign Chairman The United Way had a 71 percent increase over the 1976 campaign, 121 percent of goal was achieved. They raised $121,866 He announced that the total dollars contributed in 1977 to the United Way including the Combined Federal Campaign at Hill AFB, was $317,931. They had 48 percent employee participation and increased their contributions by 26 percent over the 1976 campaign. They had 70 percent employee participation. Their average contribution was $88.73, the highest of any company in Davis County. The employees raised $23,604 00 and the c' ntributed company $17,700 00. Ken Richins, president of Kenway, was recognized for his support. Ken was the campaign chairman for the United Way in Salt Lake City which raised $2,823,000 00 this past year.
