Show Founders Day program Set by Whitesides PTA CHURCH NEWS KAYSVILLE " - Sowing Cbsp fcsg'ms ' ' Layton The Founders' Day program for the E. M. White-sidelementary achool will be held Tuesday, February 9 at 7:30 p.m, The program will consist of talks by American Field students, Olaug Vaala, Norway, who is attending Davis High School and living with the John Adams family in Layton this winter; Julia Simmons, Layton, daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Roy W. Simmons, who visited Japan lest summer; and Edward Massey, Clearfield, eon of Mr. and Mrs, Wdhm Massey, who recently returned after attending achool in Germany for alx es ' special aewing class Is being sponsored Ly the Fourth Ward Relief Society. Anyone interested in attending should contact Mrs. Edith Grover, , . . , telephone 417-WORK DAY IN FOURTH WARD Kaysville Work Day for the Fourth Ward Relief Society will be February 9 at 10 a.m. at the chapel. Mrs. Karma Swindle, Farmington, will give a talk on home ' management and time. An Ogden dairy will furnish the dairy products part of the lunch and also present a short talk on nutrition. Lunch will be served to both women and children, according to Mrs. Georgia Barton, president. THIRD WARD GOLD AND GREEN Kaysville MIA of the 'Kaysville Third Ward is sponsoring the annual Gold and, Green Ball Saturday, February 6, at 8:45 pun. at the recreation hall. 'There will be a floor show and refreshments will be served. Everyone in the ward is invited. Mrs. Afton McCormick is president of the YWMIA. BAPTISMAL SERVICES Stake Baptismal services will be Davis Kaysville held Saturday at the Stake House atSO p.m. Fast Sunday services will be held in the wards throughout the stake on February 7. Davis Stake conference is scheduled for February 20 and 21. BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT of the Third Ward are playKaysville Junior ing in the Lakeside basketball tournament at Roy for two weeks. Teams playing are from various Davis communities as well as Ogden, with 24 teams participating. The third ward team played Saturday and will play again Thursday, Feb. 4. DeWayne Thorne is coach of the Third Ward team. NEW PRIMARY OFFICERS IN SIXTH Kaysville The Sixth Ward Primary has been reorganized, naming Mrs. Mary Thorson, president; Mrs. Darlene Brown, first counselor; Mrs. Billy Timothy, second counselor. Mrs. Texie Hill was released as president. Her counselors had been Mrs. Thorson and Mrs. Brown. M-M- game is to be held on February 26th. Working out a sparkling new routine are the Pep Club sponsors Mrs. Eva Fryer and Mrs. Beth Cornia. The sixth and seventh period ninth grade girls gym classes will combine for the march. The classes will march togeth er on separate sides of the floor. The practices were begun on January 2bth, with the first stages of the maneuver. The score at the end of this exciting game stood 35 to 20 Centrals favor. The closest game of the day was the game played at Bountiful, between the 9th grades. During this game the score was tied several times. At the end of the third quarter Central was ahead and they remained so to the end of the game. Although Bountfiuls team made several attempts to gain on Central the final score stood, Central 43, Bountiful 41. at prayer meeting at the Evening Vespers continues to rise. Plans are being made for a program for Easter which will include Communion on Good Friday. Also the choir will have new robes by the Easter Sunday. Slate CLOSED WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON OPEN TILL NOON ON SATURDAY 5 Court conference Clearfield On February 8, as many of the Clearfield police officers as can be spared and Justice of the Peace, Vem Burton, will be attending the 19G0regional court conference in Ogden. This conference is being sponsored by Governor George D. Clyde, Chief Justice, J. Allen Crockett, and Attorney General, Walter L. Budge, and the purpose of the conference is to educate the local police and judges in the proper way to maintain local traffic courts and to put into practice, proper court procedures. The conference also will deal with the necessity of educating the general public to habits of safety on the roads. Gary Stewart has Lead in BYU play Stewart, Gary Kaysville son of Mr. and Mrs. G. LaVirl Stewart, Kaysville, has been selected to play the lead roll in the BYU presentation of All My Sons, play by Arthur Miller, who wrote Deat of a Salesman also. The play began its four-da- y run Wednesday evening at 8:15 p.m. at the Joseph Smith Audiwill torium and continue through Saturday. The drama tells the story of two American families, the tragedies and loves that affect the lives of all members. Another of the Kaysville Kaysville Junior Chamber of Commerce sponsored teen-ag- e dances will be held Thursday at Davis High School from 7 to 10 p.m. Ray Uliberry, leader of TV Show Utah Bandstand, will furnish the music.
