Most everything that we eat and wear or use in our dally life depends on Mother Earth. Now you may ask, what has caused this brainstorm of mine about Mother Earth? Thats easy to explain. One of Mother Earths most abundant produets here in Utah is her mineral deposits. From the mineral deposits comes our mining industry. From our mining industry comes thousands of jobs for our miners and millions of dollars in taxes that pay the way for State government. Past policies on tariffs have put a crimp in our mining industry. Metals have been purchased out of oar country where living standards and prices are low and our miners have had lean pickings mi this account. Lets get our mining industry back on its feet. Lets miners a full bread basket again. Put these these get men back to work. Now you' ask how. Our Congressmen and Senators in Washington have done a grand job in getting recognition for our mining industry, but they cant do everything. Every citizen in, Utah can help complete what these representatives of ours in Washington have started if we will write or wire President Eisenhower now (and I mean, right now) that we favor the approval of the Tariff Commissions report to strengthen our material defense by freeing us of dependence on foreign metals and purchase those materials for stock piles in our own country and by so doing bring one of our most important industries, the mining industry, back to where it belongs in our economic life. An investment of a 3c stamp and ten minutes of your time writing a letter will mean more dollars in your pocket. I wonder how many Utahns are interested in Utahs future and our mining industry. Time will tell when we see how many letters are received by Pres. Eisenhower. I hope they. have to put an extra Mail clerk to work to handle these letters. Dont wait till tomorrow, send your letter right now. Now lets see what the Layton Cold Storage and my Merry Merchants have to offer you for this week end. Oh my, there are too many to mention here.
