He was first taken to a hospital in Paris but is now in an allied hospital in England. Since his injuries he has been able to write several letters home. A veteran of the battle of the Belgium bulge, Capt. Layton was serving with the Third army at the time of his injuries. He was . M. P. Whitesides, chairman of the county labor committee announced today (Thursday). A labor hearing will be held from 6:00 p. m. until 8:00 p. m. and will resume again at 9:00 p. In the nv, Mr. Whitesides said. intervening hour between K:00 and 9:00 p. m. the annual meeting of the Davis county farm labor association will be held. Election of seven directors will take place at this meeting. During the labor hearing, testimony will be taken to determine the prevailing wage scale for all farm operations including harvesting of crops. Farmers needing labor are urged to attend, Mr - Whitesides said. Mr. Whitesides pointed out that despite the fact that the labor supply will be tighter than last year, there are several favorable outlooks. The county labor committee is now completing plans to open the Mexican labor camp this year and an order has already been accepted by the WLB to supply 125 Mexican nationals for Davis county. The committee is also working on a program to obtain prisoners of war to assist during peak rush, period. All local youth and adult la-will be recruited for the fruit harvest. New Japanese labor is uncertain at this time, Mr. Whitesides said, since they cannot return after they leave the relocation center.
