Show done by these brilliant law makers or industry killers which eter you like to call them. British authorities said we floated to victory on a sea of oil. That oil was furnished by the untiring efforts of American oil men in the face of endless legislative and departmental handicaps. Oily politicians of the La Follette, Pinchot, et al stripe have cost this nation dearly and the laboring man is paying the bill today by unemployment due to prohibited development If the same policies had been in force after the Civil war, the West would not be settled today. Mrs. Arbuckle Chairman of Home Economics, with nine local chairmen appeared before the commissioners May 19 and presented a petition signed by 400 women. These petitions as well as the women present expressed the prevailing sentiment that Miss Lees services to the county were too valuable to lose, and that the feeding of children, improvement of homes, and social betterment of communities were of equal value with the development of agriculture. The petition was well received by the commissioners and a motion to reconsider the former action was passed. At the request of the Farm Bureau officers, a representative of the College was present. Miss McCheyne, State Leader of Home Demonstration Agents was appointed by President Peterson to represent the College. ACC . t is ope thing to establish industries; it is quite another thing to build up, develop and maintain them. It An industry can be established by the investment of capital; iti development and maintenance depend upon the attitude of the publie toward the enterprise and toward the product. Likewise, the permanency of an institution depends upon the willingness of its customers to pay a sufficient price for its product to enable it to continue strong and healthy financially. The Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph Companys system of wires, furnishing the means of communication over mountains, plaina and desert; is a tremendous factor in the development of the West. Telephone service is a home product of every community in the mountain states, and is woven into the very warp and woof of commercial and social life.
