Fred Abbott stated to the board that the Salt Lake & Ogden Railway company was desirous of placing signs at the wagon road crossings for the safety of the public, and asked that crossings where such signs should be placed be designated. He was informed that they desired that safety signs be placed at all crossings in the county. Mr. Abbott also asked that the commissioners change the wsgon road near St. Joseph for the purpose of making the road more safe. Mr. Gregory, representing the industrial corporation of Salt Lake City, was present and stated what had been done in regard to the Intermoun tain Packing company the Cudahy Packing company, and he asked that a franchise be given his company for a pipeline. He was told to submit his request for a pipeline franchise in . Bookkeeping C Leslie Tsylor, aged 19 years, resid-nat 2769 Grant avenue, was taken o the Dee hospital at 1:35 oclock Tuesday morning, with both legs crushed. The accident, as near as could be learned, occurred aa the last Salt Lake & Ogden train was leaving Caysville for Ogden. Tsylor, it is stated, was going from one car to another when he fell beneath the wheels. At the hospital the injured man was attended by Dt. E. R. Dumke, who :ound upon examination the left leg was broken between the knee and ankle, while the right leg was crushed below the knee. It was stated that it was possible to save one of the legs, ut it is feared that amputation of the other leg may be necessary. At 2:30 oclock Tuesday morning Taylor was still on the operating table. These are at Farmington and Layton, where they will be conducted in connection withnhe grade schools. This plan of high school organization is being fol lowed throughout the state with gratifying results. The junior high school embraces the seventh, eighth and ninth grades and is organized as a unit, so that the work of these grades is more closely related and unified than in thb old system. New Subjects In accordance with the spirit of the times in education, the course of study in the high schools is being shaped to meet the specific needs of Davis county For the com mg school year the following sub jects have been added: General botany, zoology, cement construction, home management and sanitation, art needlework, hygiene for girls, hygiene for boys and high school snthmetic. Entrance fees and transportation Uowances A registration fee of $10 i required of every student who en-the high schools of Davis county, except those who enter the seventh end eighth' grades of the junior high schools. In addition to this fee, stu dents who enter the senior high school tenth, eleventh and twelfth grades be required to pay a $2 student sctivity fee.
