It was worth double the price of admission to the Davis slab artist burn em across the platter and he had so much stuff on the pellet that fourteen of the Weberifes whiffed. Mr. Simpson was also very much in ev dence behind the plate. His pair of lungs will bring the team through to many a victory. Whitesides pulled off a classy play in the sixths when he stabbed a fly, in a spectacular m robbing the bafter of what looked like a safe hit. Ole Layton duplicated the feat in the ninth and won much applause, especially from the J feminine rooter9.. BOUNTIFUL1! Last Sunday fully two hundred school patrons!, visited - the grade the work done by the children of the various branches of study during the past year. The rooms of the building were filled with the material ranging from tiny woven hammocks to tables and tabourets. Every child had note ( books, drawings and other work upon the walls or upon his desk that would not fail to gladden the hearts of the least Interested patron. Patrons who failed to show interest enough in the work of their children to go and see it have , indeed, missed an opportunity. The hand work that is being done in the schools in. the way of making various articles is highly commendable. President Charles Elliot says that' halfof the time- - of the pupil -- should be devoted to such work. We hope this tendency toward emphasising the training of the hand may continue in our schools. Many school patrons in looking over the written lesions of the pupils were heard to 'exclaim what great 'Opportunities the children have today. It is a fact that the children have done some excellent work in composition and writing. It is unusual to find the writing so uniformly good as that which was on exhibition in the eighth grade room. The same may be said of the first graders. It is surprising how well they have learned to write in a single year. One feature that did not fail to attract attention of every visitor was tho artistic drawing work with which the walls were decorated. In design and still life work the pupils have excelled. The art exhibit was by far the best that has been made in' the schools of Kaysville. There has been much talk the last few years about the necessity of a closer relationship between the school and the home. The teachers seem to be doing their full duty .towards the accomplishment of this end. What can be more desirable in the way of than to have parents and teachers inspect the work of the children together. All parents present expressed themselves pleased with the work of their children. Principal E. M. Whitesides is to be complimented on the splendid work the schools have done under his leadership.
