Show February 15, 1977 Weber State College Volume 37 Number 31 Colummist Miller hits 47 Tl to giueak Nationally prominent economist, author and syndicated columnist Eliot Janeway will be the noon convocation guest at Weber State College, Feb. 17. Although Mr. Janeway has been called many things, he sees himself as an optimist. He defines an optimist "as somebody who sees things clear and is ready to move forward." "Those who have disagreed with the way he saw things in Washington in recent years are now digging up his writings to read again," said Chris Davis, convocation chairman. One of his concepts which is now gaining favor in Congress and around the nation is the "Agripower" idea. Under this new policy America bargains with the rest of the world instead of simply subsidizing other nations with our food supplies at a penalty to ourselves. The Janeway convocation is being sponsored by the Associated Students of Weber State College and will be in the Fine Arts Center auditorium. f Packets and class schedules for Spring quarter are available today in the Administration Building. Registration will begin next Tuesday for juniors and seniors, Wednesday for Sophomores and Thursday for Freshmen.
