Show ;fl A -recream 0 The main objective of the Weber State College Activities Board (CAB) is to provide sufficient unacademic activities for the student on campus. A total of $13,000, 50 cents from each student's fee, was allocated to CAB for the year 1977-78. Dan Forsey, Student Body Activities Vice President, presides as chairman over the 10 active committees which are: LEAP (Leisure Education Approach Program); Entertainment; Films; Dance; Married Students; Arts and Crafts; Recreation; Special Events and Union Culture. Chairpersons of each committee meet once a week with Forsey and a secretary to discuss the past and future activities. Each individual committee holds their own weekly meeting also. People interested in joining any of the ten committees should apply to the ASWSC secretary, located in the Student Body Government Offices in the Union Building. LEAP Although the new program for this year is being organized, a chairperson has not yet been found to head the committee. When the program gets underway, $10 will be charged to those students wishing to attend classes on a no-credit basis. These classes will include everything from art to dog-training. ENTERTAINMENT Big plans are now being made on the remodeling of the Union Station into a western-style bar; however, no alcoholic beverages will be served in accordance with Utah state law. A nightclub-coffee house atmosphere is the goal ; where live entertainment and soft drinks will bring a change of pace to the campus. The first introduction to the nightclub has been scheduled for December 10. 1 FILMS Films are shown in the Union Building every Friday and Saturday night. They are at least one year old, in accordance with state law. Usual show time for the movie is seven and nine-thirty, with a $1 charge for students with their student ID card, and $1.50 without. Movies scheduled for the rest of the fall quarter are: "Mr. Billion" on November 4 and 5; a double feature of "Outlaw Josey Wales" and "The Great Scout and Cathouse Thursday" (with an inexpensive western-style meal) on November 11 and 12; "Murder by Death" on November 18 and 19 ; "Fun with Dick and Jane" on December 2 and 3 ; "Oliver" on December 9 and 10 (including a special matinee for children on the 10).
