Show Page 2 Signpost Jan. 11,1977 Lecture: Utah's past During the past four months, the Utah State Historical Society has sponsored a Utah History Lecture Series. The series is designed to increase knowledge of Utah's history. , Ronald G. Watt, an archivist at the LDS Church Historical Department, is the director of this series. The presentations of the coming months include: On Jan. 12, 1977, Ms. Beverly Beeton will speak on "Women's Suffrage in Utah." Ms. Beeton is an assistant to the Vice President of Academic Affairs at the University of Utah. On Feb. 9, 1977, Davis Bitton, professor of history at the University of Utah, will discuss "Visual Image of Mormons in Nineteenth Century Publications." On March 9, 1977, Dallin Oaks, President of Brigham Young University will discuss "Joseph Smith and Legal Process." Hamilton, Joe Frank and Dennison Gold record trio at WSC Hamilton, Joe Frank and Dennison will appear in concert on Thursday night at 8 p.m. in the Weber State College Fine Arts Center Auditorium. Tickets are $5 and $6 and are available at the Fine Arts Center Ticket Booth. Hamilton, Joe Frank & Dennison gave an exceptionally well-done concert here at WSC last year. The audience gave them four standing ovations and kept calling them back for more. So the group gave three encores. In 1971 the original group of Hamilton, Joe Frank and Reynolds had a million selling record in their hit "Don't Pull Your Love." Then Reynolds in 1972 took a permanent leave of absence to become a Christian Tax aid The District Director of Internal Revenue Service for Utah, Roland V. Wise, reminded Ogden taxpayers that walk-in tax assistance and information are provided at the local IRS Office in Room 1301 of the Federal Building, 324 - 25th Street. The hours for tax assistance during the current filing period, Jan. 3 to April 15, are from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. on weekdays. He also said that taxpayers who live anywhere in Utah may receive telephone assistance for tax information by dialing, toll-free, 1-800-662-5370. New course A new course entitled "Home Health Care" is being offered by the Weber State College nursing department during winter quarter. The course, Nursing 281, offers three credit hours toward general education and will be held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 1 p.m., room 417, Building 4. Karen Beaver, of the WSC nursing faculty, said topics will include home nursing, normal reproduction, common health problems of infants, toddlers and young children, and understanding grief and loss in the family. . , . . , . title of their latest album. Brothers is a female psychologist. She is the author of numerous magazine articles with subjects ranging from sports to liberated love and marriage. Good Housekeeping carried a monthly column entitled "On Being a Woman" by Brothers for over six years. She also writes a syndicated column that appears in some 350 daily newspapers throughout the nation. She has been a feature writer for the Hearst newspapers and ITnitrl Procc Trvfrrrnnt inn o 1 Dr. Brothers received her B.S. from Cornell University. She obtained her M.A. degree from Columbia University. During 1949-50 she was a research fellow on a United Nations leadership project. She received her PhD from Columbia University. Brothers was known for her knowledge of boxing and she won the TV quiz show the "$64,000 Question" in 1955.
