The resolution said that a $5,000 fund would be set up to cover expenses for club activities next year. Jeff Hoskins, student services vice president, proposed an amendment to the resolution to drop the limit of $200 per activity that was placed on the fund. The amendment passed unanimously. Hoskins then asked if approval of the resolution would be an appropriation to the fund. Diamonds Appraised at 40 More??? "Find a better value we'll refund your money." REALLY!!! WEST'S JEWELERS believe you are too smart to fall for such ridiculous claims! The facts are, very few stores do appraising. Fewer still are qualified gemologically to appraise. No one appraises new diamond rings you are thinking about buying anyway. Besides, why should you have to pay someone else to appraise such a diamond ring! Stores making this sort of claim are counting on this fact and the probability that 99 of customers would accept the statement and not have the diamond appraised. If you don't have 100 confidence where you buy ... don't buy it there! The only way anyone would appear to sell a diamond for 40 or 50 less is to use low quality and mark it up 50 or 60 too high in the first place, and then try to get you to believe a fine jeweler would charge you that much ... WHAT A PUT ON! All diamonds are graded for cut, color and clarity-to tell you that means nothing. Don't be fooled. Let West's gemologist show you the difference in diamond qualities and prices. They have been doing this for 59 years. See the difference in beauty in West's diamonds and they certify the quality on a certificate of the American Gem Society. Hoskins then moved that they table discussion and place the ASWSC Clubs fund request at the end of the agenda. "We have the precedent that existing organizations should have first priority in the budget hearings. This is a new program and should thus be scheduled at the end of the agenda," said Hoskins. Jeff Flamm, financial vice-president, said that this was a foolish move and they should consider the budget now. The Finance Board, chaired by Jeff Flamm, made the recomendation that instead of funding each club 2429 Wash. Blvd. Ogden seperately, the Council should make one appropriation to an ASWSC Clubs fund. The parking lots adjoining the Fine Arts Center will be terraced and landscaped and there will be a new parking lot to the south of the FAC on both sides of Tyler Ave. The lot that now stands along 41st street (the south access road ) will be turned into a playing field. The land-scaping is being done to prevent cars from being viewed from Harrison Blvd. Robert Folsom, director of Campus Planning, said that the total amount of parking space would be about what there is now. The construction is due to begin in the summer and should be finished by the time fall quarter starts. there was no definition of clubs in the resolution. He said that he would want to know which organizations are to be named "clubs" before he voted on the appropriation. mm mm mum blunteer.
