Show Friday, May 19, 1950 SIGNPOST Page 5 GampusCapers Sharmea Sharmea is the youngest club on the campus. It, was founded in 1946 and is denoted by the colors, pink and black. The favorite saying of the club is "Pink for Sharmes." This club has sponsored a dance with Viking, a Mothers and Daughters Tea, and put on their annual assembly in addition to the usual parties, sales, and banquets of a school year. Sharmea's athletic teams captured school championship in intramural Softball, volleyball, foul pitch, and squash. The girls of Sharmes have truly had a successful year and will be glad to help welcome all of you to the next wonderful year at Weber. Viking The Viking Club of Weber College is active in all intermural activities. Once each year the club sponsors a dance for the student body. Among the many varied activities of the past year our "Hell Week"r activity will long be remembered, by all who participated. The assembly . sponsored by the Viking Club was - considered by many as one of the outstanding assemblies of the year. The boys from the club can easily be identified by their greensweaters-with white emblems. The objectives of the club are to promote good sportsmanship, develop fellowship, and growintellectually. Mmmm! Nice Lookin' lota Highlighting Iota Tau Kappa's activities was the : presentation of its traditional print-dress dance, "Spring Frolic." Among the more formal activities were the pledge and club birthday banquet, the membership banquet, and the final banquet. The club also donated packages to a needy family at Christmas. First in the cafeteria, Last to their classes, and Always noisy in meet ings, that's Alpha Rho Omega in college. The boys in blue that do not enjoy their club can blame them selves. So far this year Alpha Rho has sponsored boxing matches that made the eyes of many shine had a merry Christmas party at present ed "Best Dressed Coed , had numerous stag parties, and had a party with almost every girls' club on the campus. There was also a banquet and now in the skeletal form is a grand slam "Farewell Party" at Bear Lake on the 20th. Phoenix Phoenix men's social organization, the largest on the campus with 53 participating members, has followed through with its main principle, of cantinuing to serve, by participating in functions all three quarters. Next Tuesday, May 23, on the campus they will sponsor their Milkmaid Contest. The girl who can get the most milk in an alloted time will have the honor of milkmaid bestowed upon her. Joanne Milnar Wins Miss Weber Crown Out of the maze of gorgeous gals competing for Miss Weber College, walked beautiful and talented Joanne Milnar with the title securely entrenched upon her lovely head. Closely following Joanne for honors were Ann Lund and Doris Martin, who were chosen as Miss Weber College's attendants.During the fall quarter, Miss Milnar reigned over the foot- ball festivities as Football Queen and last quarter sne was selected Girls Make Mews In Queen Rolls "Dream Girl of 1950" at Weber college was a charming girl named Carma Browning. For this honor she was presented a Gold compact and a corsage. Carma was a graduate of Idaho Falls high school but her home is now in Ogden. A freshman at Weber this year she is taking a general course. She has many interests among which are dacing, swimming, skiing, horseback riding, and drawing. Carma was one of the lovely girls in the recent Miss Weber College contest. She is planning on attending Weber next year. Sweetheart Chosen "Excelsior Sweetheart" as selected by Tyronne Power was a pretty brunette Miss Jone Doxey. She received a gold locket with Excelsior's insignia on it and a bouquet of orchids and camelius. Jone graduated from Ogden High last year. She is a freshman at Weber this year majoring in business.One of her hobbies is dancing but she must have one main interest because she is quiting Weber next year to go into the marriage business before long. Another Dream Girl v Long blonde hair, blue eyes, popular, and full of fun describe Marlene Barnett, who was selected as Dream Girl of Delta Phi," returned missionaries club. Marlene came from Ogden High and is majoring in home economics. She was selected Dream Girl on the basis of beauty, personality, and spirituality. Football Queen Combining many talents, this year's football queen and recently selected Miss Weber College of 1950, Joanne Milnar, sophomore, will represent the college at the Miss Utah contest in Salt Lake City this fall. A star in the swimming pool, Joanne is majoring in business. ( Skull Now that the dance is in the past, Skull members have turned their attentions toward the traditional alumni banquet which comes the last week of the quarter. Officers' for next year will be elected at this time. Skull wishes to extend a welcome to all the high school students who are looking forward to college life, and hopes you'll be happy at "good ole" W.C. In winning the coveted crown of Miss Weber College, Joanne was judged on beauty of face and figure, poise and intelligence and talent. Her display of talent consisted of a polished and very nicely executed water ballet performed in the college plunge. After graduation this June, Jo anne contemplates attending tne Utah State Agricultural college at Logan. Questioned upon this choice of schools brought the reply that "Utah state has a swimming pool and although I'd like to attend B.Y.U, there is no swimming pool on their campus." Profoundly it could be said the young lady is rather fond of the acqua. Sigma Delta Pi presented a glistening gold loving cup to Miss Weber College in accordance with the honors she won. Active in all school affairs, she is a member of Chanoda social club and Whip service club, and is W.A.A. intermural manager. Best Dressed Coed Selected as Best Dressed Coed at Weber College this year was Mari lyn Howard, one of Weber's pret tiest freshman. She was presented with a gold locket from Alpha Roe Omega, boys' club which sponsored the event. Marilyn, a dramatic's major, lists her her hobbies music and drama.
