Winter Honor Roll Released Showing Males with Highest Registrar Clarisse Hall has released the honor roll for the winter quarter disclosing that contrary to the fall quarter list, the male students had the edge in high grades. Of the 40 with a 3.00 grade average, 23 were males. In the 2.5 or above division the stronger sex outnumbered the women 67 to 44. The nearly completed stadium with a seating capacity of J400 needs installation oi a sprin- kling system, a score board, and grass. The new track has a 220 yard straight way which will qualify it for state records. Construction on the new campus got into full swing this week and if the weather conditions permit it will continue on. "If all goes well, the buildings will be ready for occupancy by the student body and faculty a year from next fall," said Henry Aldous Dixon. For the long awaited time, the present balance of $1,167,000 in the building fund makes possible construction of four buildings. Three of the four are to be one-story structures and one to be a two story structure. They will house the Social Science, Life Science, Primary elections for Student Body offices at Weber college for the comiing school year of 1952-53 are to be held this Friday, April 11. A temporary library will be opened and a book store and cafeteria will be operated at the new campus. Remaining on the present campus will be the evening school, Technical Science division, Physical Education department, Photography laboratories, drafting rooms and auditorium. The heating plant is well on its way. Much of the equipment has been purchased. Weber was selected at a meeting during the 1952 nationals at Pueblo, Colo., March 20. LDs fantasia' Set for Friday Fantasia is the theme chosen by La Dianaeda social club for their annual spring dance. It will be held April 11, at 9:00 p.m. in the Weber college ballroom. The dance Will be girl's choice and semi-formal. Fred Case's orchestra will provide the music. The committee for the dance includes Pat Erickson, chairman; Hazel Batchelor, Jane Powell, Wanda Lacey, Joan Debloois, Jean-nett Riplinger, Jeanene Garner, and Verna Kimber. Publicity chairman is Valerie Egbert. There will be a special intermission program. Tickets are available from any L. D. member for $1.20. (Picture and additional information on page 3.) Speakers Return With Honors From National Forensics Competing in the National Phi Rho Pi Forensic tournament at Pueblo, Colorado, March 19, 20, 21, Weber college speakers made a terrific showing, according to Dr. Leland H. Monson, head of Humanities division. Jane Powell took first place in women's extemptoraneous speaking. Kay Jon Mildon was third in women's oratory. Miss Powell and Miss Mildon teamed up to take third in women's debate. In men's improptu, Quinn McKay ranked second. Men's debate team of Dick Richards and Myron Child won second place. Richards was in the finals in impromptu, ex-tempt and radio every division he entered. system of voting will be inaugurated. Under this system each student will be required to present his Student Body card at the time of the voting. At that time his card will be punched and his name removed from a list. In assemblies held last week nominations were made for WC's Traveling Assembly Imitates The Big Show1 "Hello daaahlings", Marilyn Lambourn, Weber's live-wire assembly head, announced Monday that those famous words heard every Sunday afternoon on the popular radio show, "The Big Show", will be drawled out plenty on the annual Weher college traveling assembly. "Our entire assembly will be patterned after this popular radio program," Miss Lam'bourn said. "We will have commercials, guests stars and of course Tallulah Bankhead." Such outstanding college talent as Dee Gwilliams, who will give his famous Peter Lorrie imitation, and Bryan Renstrom, who will portray Danny Kaye, will perform for the enjoyment of high school students throughout the state. Other student performers will be: Georgia Bobolis, Musettes, Harmon-ettes, Carol Barker, Jo Anne Barker, Joye Dinsdale, Jim Anderson, Fred Ball, Paul Furlong, Myron Child, Ann Heath, Boh Merrill, Dr. Jay Olson, Marilyn Lambourn and David Buss. Dates at the Ogden high school, Weber high school, Washington junior high, and Box Elder are being sought by Miss Lambourn to present the assembly. College students will also have the opportunity of witnessing the production at an early college assembly.Today is the deadline for Scribulus picture appointments. Contact the Photography department if your picture has not been taken. Scholarship Deadline April 15, Says Osmond Mr. Charles A. Osmond, Weber college faculty member and advisor to the college awards committee, announced Tuesday that any student wishing to gain a scholarship to the three major universities in Utah should contact his office by April 15. these offices, and campaigning started on Monday, April 7, of this week. Voting booths will be open in the gym building from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, May 11. The results of this primary election will be announced at La Dianaeda's dance that evening. Finalists will begin campaigning on Monday, April 14, and' final elections will be held on Friday, April 18. The winners and new officers for the coming year will be announced that night at Iota Tau Kappa's dance. Nominated for student body president are the following freshmen: Myron Child is a graduate of Davis high school and a member of Phoenix club. He is also a musician and a debator. Bob Critchlow graduated from Ogden high school and is affiliated with Excelsior. For the past school year he has served as a freshman representative to the Board of Control. Val Lofgreen is affiliated with Phoenix and has "been a freshman representativee to the" Board of Control for the past year; he is a graduate of Ogden high school. Bryan Renstrom is a graduate of Welber high school and has served a LID.S. mission to the Scandinavian countries; he is a member of Delta Phi missionary fraternity and for the past year was president of the Education club. Garth Willie is a graduate of Ogden high school and is affiliated with Excelsior; for the past year he has been president of the freshman class. Gary Loosli and Bob Montgomery were also nominated, however they withdrew their names from the ballot.
