The highlight of the evening is the announcing of the "Sweetheart" during intermission at which time she will receive a gold locket. In the running for Sweetheart are Peggy Thomas, Lou Jean Sneddon, Jeannette Richards, Ilene Kendell, and La Ree Maw. Three pictures of each candidate have been sent to movie star, Cornel Wilde, who will choose the Sweetheart from these photographs. Tyrone Power, judged last year and Jean Nelson was chosen as "Excelsior's Sweetheart of 1947." The dance is to be semi-formal and corsages are in order. Tickets can be obtained from members and at the door at $1.50 a couple. Mert Draper's 10-piece orchestra will furnish the music for the dance. Officers for this quarter are Dick Peterson, president; Dale Singleton, vice president; and Gene Hansen, secretary. Advisor is Wallace Baddley. Cash prizes were given of $25, $15, and $10; first, second, and third places respectively. This event is an anuual affair, and all groups on the campus are urged to participate each year. Judging was based on originality, perfection of performance, percentage of members participating, and obedience to rules. The rules were as follows: time length, a minimum of five minutes and a maximum of ten minutes; cost of costumes could not be over $5; and each organization had to use their own members unless they lacked having a piano player. Selected students and . faculty judged the skits, and Jay Jensen and Don Soelberg acted as Masters of ceremonies. Organizations which took part in the talent show and their skit title are as follows: Iota Tau Kappa "The Toy Shop Parade." La Dianeda "Fashion The Name is Changeable." Chanodo "I Ain't Klddin'!" Otyokwa "Slaughter on Tenth Avenue." Sophvita "Pretty Baby." Alpha Rho Omego "The Lamp Went Out." Tiki Kappa Kappa "Cuanda La Gusta." Sharmea "The Lost Chord." Hawaiian Boys "A Shon Visit to Hawaii." Skull "Playmates." Jay and Don "Dimwit und Dummy." 'Heels and Hose' Dance To Spotlight Mr., Miss Highlighting the Collegiate Weber college Prominade, Alpha Rho Omega's annual "heels and hose" dance, will be the selection of Mr. and Miss Collegiate by those who attend the affair. The event is slated to take place Feb. 18. A vote will be taken at the door on the six candidates who were selected by a popular election last week. The chosen finalists for Miss and Mr. Collegiate respectively, are Joyce Barnes, Joanne Milnar, Phyllis Parker, Thair Blackburn, Dan Layton and Dale McLane. The winners will each receive a gold watch as a gift from Alpha Rho. 13-Piece Band Mert Draper and his popular 13-piece dance band has been engaged from Salt Lake City to play for the event.
