The high court will issue an opinion later. SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A former candidate for Utah lieutenant governor says those seeking public office cannot legally use a political action committee and a personal account to raise funds. Steve Maxfield presented his arguments to the Utah Supreme Court on Tuesday. Maxfield filed a complaint in 2010, hoping to bounce current Gov. Gary Herbert from the ballot. Maxfield claims Herbert and others have used political action committees to avoid monthly reporting requirements of regular campaign accounts. At issue is a Utah law that says candidates can raise money only through a regular campaign account. But another law lets political action committees transfer money to candidates. Maxfield contends that's illegal. The Salt Lake Tribune reports that attorney David Jordan, representing Herbert's former campaign, says the governor Lawyers for the fatherin-law of Susan Powell seek to suppress search of Powell home TACOMA, Wash. (AP) - Lawyers for the father-in-law of missing Utah woman Susan Powell are trying to suppress evidence seized from his home last summer. Steve Powell is set to face trial later this month on charges of voyeurism and child pornography. Investigators said that when they searched his home looking for evidence in Susan Powell's disappearance, they found images of women who had been unknow- S uComplete d o ku the grid so each row, column and 3-by-3 box (in bold borders) contains every digit 1 to 9 . ingly photographed and of two neighbor girls taking baths. In a new motion, attorney Mark Quigley is asking a judge to throw out a compact photo disk recovered from a locked compartment in his bedroom. Quigley says the police were looking for copies of Susan Powell's journals, but also said they had no reason to believe that the journals would contain any evidence of a crime. Pierce County Prosecutor Mark Lindquist says the search was done meticulously. Susan Powell's husband, Josh, killed himself and their two children in a fire at his rental home last month.
