"Well we had soda at first, served up some root beer, and now we're just doing water, keeping everybody safe," McGary said. Mackenzie Wilson, who is part of the Student Activities committee that helped prepare for the activity, said that the idea for Cowboy Up was presented at the Academy Leadership meeting at the beginning of the year. "Other ideas were presented, there was a Wet and Wild theme, but Cowboy Up was the most organized and it seemed to be the best idea, so it was chosen," Mackenzie said. Students continued to filter in up until the cutoff of 1 a.m., when no students were allowed to re-enter the building. Despite the aboveaverage turnout out of more than 300 students, Moss wished that more students would get involved in the activities, which take weeks to plan and prepare for. "1 am glad so many people came," Moss said. "And hopefully we can do this again next year, because I think that even more people will come if they are totd how great it was this year."
