Show Page 7 The Signpost Monday, March 7,2005 Student political parties rally for support By CORY DUCLOS correspondent | The Signpost Students can be heard all over campus complaining about things they don't like. Some political parties are forming that - offer students an outlet for their complaints and issues, and events at the Stewart Bell Tower throughout the week will encourage student involvement in the parties. Last year was the first year that political parties appeared on the Weber State University campus. This year, two main parties are emerging: Wildcats United and Exclamation. There is still a possibility that even more political parties may form across campus. One of the founders of Wildcats United, Chris Russell, explained that the party hopes to be instrumental in the renovation of the Shepherd Union Building, among other issues. By supporting good leaders, they hope to positively influence the process. "One big thing for our part is experience," Russell said. "We try to find the best candidates with the best values. We need good leaders to make it all go smoothly." Exclamation was founded by WSU student Cassie West. -West has been involved in several campus activities, such as Head Start, the Emerging Leaders program and the Mr. Weber Pageant.
