This didn't suppress the spark of the team. They kept the pace hot and heavy as they continued to push the counters through the hoop. Gene Kunz led the scoring with 15. Every Cat hit the scoring column. Gene started the scoring with a jump shot and nabbed nine more points the first half. The cats led at the half 4!-2S. Carter Sparks Speedy Joe Carter displaying the talent that won him a spot on the all tournament team, put the pressure on the Hornets with his habit of defensive ball stealing. Joe also connected with three long jumpers. Bob Wilson and Bill Grain with 12 and 11 points turned in a fine performance. Both the Hornets and the Cats played a man to man defense which detracted from the 'standard picture of polish that the Cats play in. Nevada-Calif.
