Magic Valley was held to meager production of 4.'? and "! points respectively by a strong Weber defense. Wildcat opponents now average ."s.7 points in conference play which gives Weber an amazing average spread of L'(! points per game. An interesting- highlight of the Magic Valley series was the scoring balance exhibited by the Wildcats. In the first game, seven players scored in double figures while every player scored in the second game. Last Tuesday, Weber met the freshmen team from the University of Utah in a re-match of the Wildcat's previous !)4-."(i victory earlier in the season on the Papooses' floor. Snow and Carbon Tonight the Snow Badgers test the Cats at Weber High, and tomorrow's opponents will be the Carbon Eagles. Both games are league affairs. The boys from Idaho didn't have a chance from the opening gun as Weber built up a 37 to 14 lead with eight minutes remaining in the half and then Coach Mann cleared his bench. Seven in Doubles Everyone on the Weber team played fine ball as Weber showed the great depth that has been characteristic of this year's team. Seven cats scored in doubled figures with Crain potting Kunz made 7, most of which were made in the first half, followed by Wilson with Hi, Jenkins with !.", Had-field with 13 and Sivulich with 13. Great Spirit Although the Panthers from Magic Valley were greatly outclassed they never led one to believe that they were losing. The game was a spirited scrap right clown to the wire as each team played like there was less than one or two points separating the two. Magic Valley has a 0 and 10 record for the year and considering the smallness of the school they are in pretty fast company in this conference. When the final gun went off Friday the fantastic score of 131 to 43 was on the scoreboard, but the Panthers came back Saturday night as though nothing had happened the night before. Again Weber's great ability and depth showed itself as the score was 2." to 1 in the first quarter of play. At this point Coach Mann substituted and Magic Valley managed to score L'2 points before the half. It was about the same story as far as individual scoring went or Snow who is in third place with a "-" record. This weekend should sew up a tournament berth for Weber if the Wildcats win all their contests and should Ricks lose one. Box score: WEBER G T F P. as Wilson was tops with followed by Kunz who scored !) and 1! for Crain, with Sivulich netting 15. Magic Valley's biggest and only consistant scorer was Tidwell who made K! on Friday and lii on Saturday. W e b e r had a comparative breather last week but they will have their hands full this week as they play the University of Utah Frosh on Tuesday and tangle with the Snow Badgers on Friday and the Carbon Eagles Saturday which will be inter-sectional games j ) 0 with the Southern Conference.
