Near Future of Grave Importance By Dennis Read Due to the extreme lack of events of importance recently, perhaps we could focus our attention on something in the future? O.K. For instance, the time is fast upon us for the annual an-ouncement that Excelsior has once again attained a probationary status. Yes, and it is songfest again with the squaws shrieking a pretty low chariot, very similar to 'the Sigma Wagon. Gruntsypoo Fred Pledge's Accepted At Graycliff By Paulette Lichenstein MEMBERS ALL are the forty Pink Ladies of Sharmea! Our membership banquet was held last Thursday at Graycliff. Congratulations those who finally made it. As sports are becoming a thing of the past with us, we have decided to give our Pink Barbells to T.K. to use as they see fit. We will pick up our pencils, voices, and enthusiasm, and concentrate on scholarship, songfest and dance worth remembering. Bon Nuit, Lady Lighlt Stone Brief Ceremony Welcomes Members By Anonymous After a brief but impressive membership ceremony last Thursday evening all of the siailors celebrated with a banquet at the Weber Club. Unused to such splendor, Ileen thought the caviar was blueberry jam. It's a good thing we didn't play O.T. 'cause feathers are no match for mops. Whiter rush is over now. We wish the rushees luck and hope Miey choose carefully. Violent Emotions Expressed By Some By Marilyn Cress Daredevil, Marge Duncan showed her contempt for Songfest practice by catapulting herself and her car into a enow drift. Don't worry though. Corrie, the Eskimo and Colleen the I'll-help-kid managed to push her out into the face of oncoming traffic. We would like to accept Shar-mea's offer , but unfortunately none of our girls strong enough to lift them. Keep them until you get your second wind. Congrats Now for a series of congratulations. Congratulations to Ann Moesinger and Dennis Wood, Outstanding Sophomores; Marclare, upon receiving her diamond; L.D. for standing up for their rights, and to the T.K. team who racked up Lambda Delt last Friday Really, Was It As Neat As All That? By Lloyd Kelly Excelsior Acceptance and Initiation was held last Thursday at the Appollo Club. A warm and sacred ceremony revealed the inner side of a united brotherly club as pledged became members. The highlight of the the night was the marriage of Charley Chul-tin and Bryant Madsen. They make such a happy couple. Big Defeat Excel's A team defeated a tired Sigma A team to a 52 to 37 victory. This A team is the one you have got to beat to take basket-baU. Later Alfred "E" Good Luck All By Cathie Gardner Songfest is getting closer and I know a lot of overworked alarm clocks that will be awfully glad to get back Ito going off at normal college student's hours. Lambda Delt Sigma is entering only in the girl's division this year. Our boys, it seems, are all out in the mission field singing hymns. Anyway, Lambda Delt wishes all the other participating clubs an extra special bit of luck nexlt Tuesday. Everyone has worked so hard that Songfest cian't help but be a great success this year. And in those days there were scribes and pharisees, and there was great contention between them. Each voiceth his opinion according to his desire. S And it came to pass that there were judges in that land who did decide to use the wisdom of Solomon so they took up a sword and cut the scribes words in twain. 7 And in that time there were great contentions on the ball court, and numerous battles were fought, but with .the help of Mav-erik, god of Phoenix, the goliath of Sigma was stoned.
