The freshmen will be treating their big sisters to a Christmas party on Dec. 20. Parties With Phoenix on Dec. 17 and Sigma on Dec. 21 have been planned. The initiation party will be held on Dec. 22. Christmas Box L.D. is now preparing a Christmas box. The chairman is Nadine Rawson. Congratulations to the volleyball team; they scored another win ovet Sharmea. Claudia Bennett is our Orchid Ball candidate, and we wish her the best f luck. In the midst of excitement .and parties, remember to take time out to think of the true meaning of Christmas. TAKAI KYOTO T.K. will hold its annual Christmas Dance on Dec. 26. The Apollo Club will feature dining and dancing for the T.K. girls, their escorts and alumni. We are all looking forward to this party to help round out the seasons activities. Spot, scratch, .and stretch brought T.K. through to another glorious victory in vallcyball. Leaving Ramona Madscn, our advisor, who will soon be Mrs. Malxood, will be leaving this quarter. We wish to thank her for her help and cooperation. 'Welcome back Cleora, here's hopin' you'll be happy with your M.U.S. Degree. As another year draws to a close, we of T.K. wish the student body a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year. Boor Whitten's been walkin' or so they say, From Promentory Point or out that way. The pledges all planned it, just wait till they hear That we'll keep fifteen members all next year. SIGMA Christmas provides an opportunity which many members wait for iall year. Those selected from the many volunteers work with "unwed mothers so that these families might have a Merry Christmas. Stealing The pledges retaliated for having to carry the active's food trays by stealing their brief cases. This foolish move provided an opportunity for the member's to challenge the pledges to a "Little Brown KEG" football game. This cherished trophy was won by the actives because of their 'thirst". POST SCRIPTS UB Plans Gala Christmas Party A Christmas party for the student body will be held on Dec. 19, at 9:30 p.m. in the Union Building after the basketball game. A charge of 25c per person is being made, with the proceeds being given to charity. A program is planned for the event, along with dancing .and refreshments.Highlighting the evening's activities will be a letter to Santa contest. Student body members are encouraged to write humorous and comic Santa letters and submit them to the Union Director's office by Monday, Dec. 17. Prizes will be given. As the rest of the world studies the controversy of the nuclear test iban, Weber College students concern themselves with a more timely problem . . . the final test ban. But, of course, and unfor-tunatly, there is no such thing Make The Best Since all the Wildcats wish to make the best of their intellectual abilities, they will study carefully, inemorize, analyze, appreciate, degenerate, and etc. etc. till the instructors, unwilling as they may be will be forced to toss A grades to the students right and left of them. Final tests may be Alpha, or Omega, the beginning or the end. Good luck, Gats, and Merry Christmas! After-Dance Hop There will be a record hop in the UB immediately after theWeber-Westminster game on Jan. 2. The "Stardusters", the newly formed Weber College dance band will provide the music. Casual dress will be the attire for the iance, and the admission is 35c per person. Home Games The band will play at all home basketball games, rather than the pep band as in times past. "A lot of hard work has gone into this dance, and it should turn out to be a dance long remembered by those who attend," states Kathy Dayton, chairman of the Dance Committee. Club Specials Every Wednesday is Club Day Special announced Charles Smiley, U.B. Cafeteria Manager. Featured on the menu are chopped egg sandwiches, deviled ham sandwiches, minced ham sandwiches, and tuna fish sandwiches, which will sell for 25c each, sliced ham sandwiches for 30c and ham and Swiss cheese on rye for 35c. Committee Will Give Kid's Party Children of the faculty and employees of Weber College will meet at the Union Building on Dec. 20 at 4 p.m. for a festive Christmas party. All of the Christmas gaiety including Santa Claus, elves, a story princess, and candy will provide entertainment for . the children. The event is sponsored by the Hospitality Committee, with Paula Blackinton as chairman. Faculty members and employees will be notified by mail about the details. I -f V ' I - -.1 L - V ; 1 . - A Newly elected officers of the Ogden-Weber Symphonic Choir are Clair West, vice president, Duane Hedin, president, and Garth Palmer, business manager. On Dec. 21, the choir will present an evening of Christmas Carols in City Park, adding to the festivities of the holiday season. The group (will also sing that evening at several different ibusiness locations in downtown Ogden. MUSIC DEPT. PLANS FESTIVAL A festival of Christmas Music will be held Sunday, Dec. 16, at the Ogden High School auditorium. It's sponsored by Weber College nder the direction of Glenn L. Hanson, assistant professor of music; Earl Erickson, and J. Clair Anderson of the WC musicdepartment. The Festival will feature the Ogden - Weber College Symphonic Choir, WC Modern Choir, Madrigal Singers, Voce Coeds, Musettes, and the Weber College Community Orchestra. Two performances, without charge, will be held beginning at 6:45 p.m. The last performance will start at 9 p.m. |
