Weber's early first quarter six-yard plunge score by Dick White set the Cats at an early lead after Carbon forced end zone kick. Tarro's kick sailed wide. The remaining five minutes of thp quarter was played in the mid-field, with both teams unable to move. The second quarter Eagles snagged Tom Musgrave's pass intended for Sid Wyatt, and took it 65 yards at the 1 a w r a 1 s of good blocking for a score. Carbon kicked the extra point, leading 7-6. After a series of downs Weber had the ball on the 50 yard line. Max Scott then passed to Tom Kerns, who went 40 yards for the Wildcats second score. The hard charging Carbon line broke through to block the kick, leaving Weber 12, Carbon 7. At the Wildcats kick off the gun sounded, ending the half. Coach Mecham's purple and white had led in 4 other games at the half in past turf battles, but was unable to pull them through. Alright, Yah, It Felt Alright" When asked, "How did you feel about running 96 yards to a touchdown?", Rodger Cook, Weber's quarterback, shrugged his shoulders, turned his body around slightly from the hips, smiled and said, "Alright, yah, it felt alright." Editor's note: Rogers' 96 yarder was the only score for the Cats against the Boise B r o n c s in the Idahoans' homecoming game. Boise cinched the league crown and took the "Indian Symbol" the same night. Veber 7, Oregon 7 At Klamath Falls A fighting but a heavily underdog Weber College team fought the powerful Oregon Tech team to a seven to seven tie before a large crowd at Klamath Falls Saturday. Dick Carter, a tackle, scored the only touchdown by recovering an "Owl" fumble in the end zone after Steve Foulger and himself hit the ball carrier. Yes, folks, that's my picture right up at the top of this column. I've just been hired by Cameraland to do special assignments in photography and to sell cameras and films and stuff. I'm a crack photographer myself so naturally I've been buying all my own equipment here and as I was always telling people how good the store was, the boss said he might as well put me on the payroll. He'll give me some tough picture assignments and I'm goirig to write- a column here in the paper every week and tell you all about them and also I'll tel! you about some of the stuff I sell here at our store. The selling part will be duck soup because we don't carry anything but the very best. Read my column in this paper every issue and any time you want anything that has to do with photography, just come in and see me and you'll really get it. I mean you'll get what you want. If I'm not in the store when you come in, don't wait for me. Confidentially you'll get good service and good merchandise anyway, but don't tell the boss I said so. See you next issue. SNAPPER. CAMERALAND 2504 Wash. Blvd Fhone 6214 John D. Ecrles Merrett Smith The second half opened, Weber receiving, driving from their own 10 yard line up to the Eagles' 40. Weber fumbled and Carbon recovered. After an exchange of punts Carbon had the ball on the Wildcats' 40 yard line. A long pass had a first and goal on the Weber's one yard line for Carbon. Carbon was on the three yard line just as the quarter ended on a push back. However, on the fourth down Carbon passed for the score. The kick was wide and Carbon led 13-12.. Weber received and ended up on the Eagles 40 yard line. On two consecutive plays, Tom Kerns, hard driving fullback, went the 40 yards for the score. Again the extra point was no good, and Weber led 18-13. With only two minutes remaining in the game, Carbon received but fumbled the receive and had first and 10 on their own five yard line. The entire line for Weber charged through, forcing the runner behind the goal where Dick Carter dragged him down for two point pay. Weber 20, Carbon 13. Coach Mecham then cleared the bench. Carbon then had to kick off following the safety and Weber held the ball until the gun. Weber winning their first gme of the season thus far.
