Tonight they will take on Dixie College in Saint George. Tomorrow they will tussle with CSU at Cedar City. Weber . went over Dixie with ease on the Wildcat court, but they had trouble getting over CSU here. The Broncos will be up for this encounter, after beating an extremely talented Boise quint last week. The Cedarites are tied with Boise for third place. Don Nish has been troubled with a sprained thumb. He should be back in shape for the weekend games. He better be; the Cats are going to need him. Next Friday, February 18, the Wildcats will test Boise on the Weber hardwoods. Saturday they will tangle with Ricks for what may be the ICAC crown. These will be the final league encounters before the NJCAA tournament. Girls' Basketball Begins Today Femininity takes to the hardwood today when the girls' clubs line up against each other to play basketball. The first game is between OT and Sharmea and will begin at 2:15. Immediately after, LD will play against Chonodo. Several new officers have been added to the WAA staff. Sharon Farr is vice president, Cozette Myers is assistant intramural manager, Connie Francis is reporter and Janet Stallings has been named secretary. Volleyball competition ended recently with a first place tie between Chanodo and L.D. O.T. took over second place and Sharmea was third. Next on the sports parade is ping pong,' which will start today. Marilyn Arnold, L.D.; La-Wanna Harris, O.T.; Donna Cook, Sharmea, and Marilyn Fowlers, Chonodo, will contend for the title. Excels, Sigma Continue Fight for Prized Intramural Championship By Glen McEntire Basketball is rolling at a high speed. Some competition seems to be very keen while the rest is dull and filled to capacity with forfeits. Presently the powers are trying their best to eliminate this undesirable situation. The intramural heads are not to blame. Poor Andy has spent hours trying to figure it out, and so has Ab. Personally, this writer feels that intramurals are doomed unless: - 1. It should be necessary for a club that is represented to pay a $10.00 entrance fee. Charmed Life Cats Edge Snow, Tromp Dinosaurs Weber College continued to lead a charmed life last Saturday as they squeezed past the Snow College Badgers, 74 to 73. The victory pushed the Wildcats into a tie for first place with Ricks. Both teams have an 8-2 record. The Swensmen had little trouble with Carbon the night before as they drubbed them, 69 to 50. Bob Subic hit the hoop for 30 counters to take scoring honors for the evening. Two weeks ago the Cats took a weekend series from Dixie and CSU. Weber got past CSU 76 to 67 and Dixie 85 to 59. Plagued by Injuries Coach Swenson has had a bad time this year, especially with injuries to his forwards. During the trip to Kansas, Roy Hassel had a wrist injury, and in the Weber-CSU game Curt VanAlfen had so much trouble with broken arches that he had to keep off the hardwoods. His injury was a recurrence of one in high school. Subic Leads in Scoring As of( last week's games, individual statistics show Bob Subic to be the leading scorer on the Wildcat squad. Don Nish is second in the individual standings. ICAC Standings Team, Won Lost Pet.
