Show Orchid Ball - Friday Just think! Only one more week until the orchestra begins the opening dance number of this year's luxurious Orchid Ball! The Sophomore class of Weber College announces the coming of the Orchid Ball to be held Friday, January 21, at 9 p. m. in the College ballroom. The admission will be $1.50 per couple- and tickets will be continued to be sold next week, including Friday evening at the door. The dress is semi-formal. The famed Stewart Grow's orchestra will furnish the dance music. Mr. . Grow's' orchestra has become a favorite of many who have danced to their music not only at Lagoon but at numerous other dance halls throughout the region. Outstanding Soph Girl Before the dance, the "outstanding Sophomore girl" will be chosen by a committee consisting of Mar-va Gregory, Clair J. Anderson, Clarise Hall, and President W. P. Miller. The outstanding girls that were named as candidates are Lila Allen, LuWanna Harris, Marilyn Ar- r y r VOLUME XVIII JANUARY 14, 1955, OGDEN, UTAH NUMBER 6 nold, Nancy Frazier, and Una Jean West. The judges' results will be announced during intermission time. Free Orchids The ballroom will be decorated in an "Orchids of Hawaii" theme. FREE orchids will be given to all of the ladies. The dance is under the direction of the Sophomore class officers; Bob Standing, president; Lila Al len, vice president; Barbara Roberts, secretary; and Bonnie Bybee, historian. Una Jean West and Bonnie Bybee are co-chairmen of the decorations committee. Which Will He Ou&s&anding Sophomore. Girl? One of these outstanding Sophomore girls will be chosen as the "most outstanding" next Friday night at the annual Orchid Ball. They are, top Marilyn Arnold, Una Jean West; center Lila Allen; bottom LuWanna Harris and Nancy Frazier. |
