'fa) IlJSLllIUHHHLlHl Only One Manager To-Date for Basketball To date only one manager position has been filled. That one is the basketball team. Manager position has been filled by Bob Larson. Bob came from Ogden high school where he was interested in sports. He has the background for such a job. - As (I J t J uj R y i 1 t-,m a I. ,i ftlMlWL-W JafeT-...g..J. One of these faces was that one of Ab Sanone the person interested in sports. Ab was the sports manager for intra-murals and the manager for the basketball team. Ab participated in athletics at Weber and at the other schools he has attended. Ab was not interested in any one sport to the fact that he lived for only one but he participated in many. Due to the fact that he had such a back ground and the fact that he possessed such a good personality he was chosenIn-tra-mural manager. To this date no one has been found to fill the position. And any one who can referee and is really interested should apply to the advisor "Andy" Anderson. Le Passe-Temps. (Quote translation) First Conference Game Tonight Tonight and tomorrow night Weber will open the first of its conferences games with the Boise Broncos commanded by Coach Blankley. The showing of Boise so far has no been too good but that can be accounted for since Mr. Blankley is also the head football coach and had to finish the season. The Boise team has always been strong in everything they do and this will be no exception. The Broncs have lots of speed and accuracy which could give them the game. Due to its schedule of game Weber will not play many of them at home this year so this will give the students something to see as far as team performance is concerned. The games tonight and tomorrow night will be held in the Ogden High gymnasium and will start at eight o'clock sharp. This should give a good turnout from the students and the public. This year Weber will be minus its two top players, Tucker and Sewell, who made all-division andall-conference. Tucker also made All-American at the National Junior College Tournament held in St. Louis last year. This will give this year's team quite a few standards to live up to. Probable starters for this game are Harbertson, forward; Ashby, guard; Hull, center; Wood, guard, and Dinsdale, forward. Probable starters for the Orange and Blue will be Lowell Kolbola forward who stands 5'3", Dwight Winslow, center 6'3"; C. W. Cot-ten, 6'; Bob Gilbert, guard as Cot- ten 6' and Ray Mullins, forward 5'10". Boise has won two games from Albion and this game will also be Boise's first conference game. The Boise team is composed of all freshman but they know their stuff. The Boise team will have a ten- man traveling squad and will arrive Friday afternoon after an all night stop in Burley. Weber Victorious Over Parsons Weber racked up their second win over the Parsons of Westminister Saturday adding more glory to their record for the year. Friday Weber College finished the game with a score of 75-58. Weber's Purple and White had control of the game as the game progressed it became more evident Weber would be the victor. With the exception of a time in the first few minutes of game time when the score was seven all Weber maintained the 1 ead. Ron Wright started the game off with the first score for Weber and the Parsons quickly countered by sinking a shot. At the end of the first quarter the score stood at 26-11. At halftime the score had been upped to 31-23. In the second half Weber maintained and increased their lead over the Purple and Gold and the final score was 78-44. Top men were Glen Ashby for Weber with 16 followed by Harbertson, Wright and Hull with ten. For the Parsons Bohman sank five for a total of ten followed by Dimis with 8 and Johnson with 7.
