DEMOCRACY WORKS Social Club Membership Open To All Students This yea"r at Weber college 205: women belong to social clubs that is 53 per cent of all women in the college. Of the 47 per cent who do not belong to social organizations there are many who do not have the desire to join. Social clubs at Weber are becoming more democratic. It is apparent that anyone wanting to join a club can join one if they so desire to do so. Perhaps they may not be able to get their first choice but they can belong to another one in most cases. If there are a group of students who wish to be in a club but did not join, they can form an organization themselves under the direction of the dean of women, Marva Gregory. Of the nine hundred men on the campus, 249 belong to the seven men's groups. This is 26 per cent of the men attending the college. Men usually do not place social life as of being to important in their lives where women usually place it rather high with their college activities. Often jobs interfere for many so they are unable to participate in club events, while others may not have a desire at all to become members. However, men usually have the opportunity to join if they wish. I Modern J Shoe Repair I I HEADQUARTERS FOR 1 I FINE SHOE REPAIR I 2560 Wash.
