Weber's offensive unit roared into high gear during the opening period pushing across four counters with Jimmy Miyasato, Rod Pollard, Merrill Shupe, and Bobby LaMadrid contributing the touchdowns. During the second quarter touchdowns on a fine exhibition of broken field running by Miyasato and a seven-yard line plunge by Vance Bitton made the score 39-7. The Aggies' lone score came in the second period with Jerry Hansen crossing the goal line after an interception had set up the score. In the third frame Rhead scored twice on aerials from Miyasato, and a final touchdown by Sterling Gardener on a pass play in the fourth quarter put the final count at 59-7. Of the nine tries for points after touchdowns for the Wildcats Charles Kalani split the uprights four times and Miyasato once. Dick Warner converted for the B.AC. Broncos. Collegiate Records In 1944 an undefeated, untied Army team set a new all-time collegiate record for scoring with 74 touchdowns and a total of 504 points for the season.
