Show THURSDAY, DECEMBER 10, 1941 THE SIGNPOST Social vnl& on jJ&k&h Qolbiqsi Clubs Ask Santa for Plenty of Everything Dear Santa: Deep within every girl's heart lies the ideal man she would like or she thinks she would like as a life partner. We of Chanodo have as our ideal Robin Hood, the daring man of Sherwood Forest. Certain qualities of men on Weber college's campus impress us as being similar to those of Robin Hood. So for Christmas, dear Santa, please leave this man in our stocking or under the tree. He must have: John Piers' height, Floyd Champneys' physique, Harry Olson's well-groomed appearance, Jack Janke's shiny shoes, Kenneth Wheeler's hair and profile, Lynn Nelson's blue eyes, Lewis Davis' friendly smile and manners, Carlyle Green's complexion, Max Con-ley's eye winking, Dan Down's gentlemanliness, Roy Gibson's speaking voice, Rex McEntire's ability to speak, Edison Rose's mental attractiveness, Mohrland Echardt's sincerity, Dan Drumiler's ability to handle money, Albert Lolatai's sense of humor, and LaMar Buckner's dependability. Sincerely yours, Girls of Chanodo P. S. Students Any person answering the descriptions just named, report to Santa Claus immediately. To Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, and Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donder and Blitzen. Dear Deer: We realize the sort of thing we're going to ask of you is hardly cricket, but we're a victim of last year's circumstances. Last year the Skull club wrote a letter to your master, Santa Claus, in which we asked him to leave in our stocking a doll (or was it a moll?) with the qualities and quantities we prescribed. But for some strange reason or other we never received what we asked for. Why, we were almost on the verge of saying that we didn't believe in Santa Claus. But we finally decided that we had been selfish; we had thought only of ourselves. So instead of asking for something this year we're going to give to someone. Santa is so busy remembering things, so we want you to remind him to do this for us on Christmas Eve, have him stop at our house and pick up the presents we want him to deliver. There will be three. In one package is a time bomb for Hitler, in another is a time bomb for Mussolini, in the last and indeed not the least is two. time bombs tied up with a ribbon for Prince Konoye of Japan. Tell Santa to leave them on their beds, so they'll be sure to hear about Santa's visit. Amen. p s. Sincerely wishing you a successful Christmas voyage. (That is to say, I hope everybody gets a present this year) Get it? No? Well, a certain prince will. Skull Club Dear Santa: The only thing we girls want for Christmas this year is a perfect man. Perhaps if you and your helpers would do the following we would be satisfied and plenty. Take Carlyle Green's smile, Darrel Williams' happy face, Irvin Stevens' eyes, Kenny Wheeler's hair, George Williams'general-good-looks, John Dixon's friendliness, Ted Boyle's dry wit, Gerald Welker's line and dancing, Jim Blaes' personality, Jack Larson's voice, Mayland Parker's teeth and eye-lashes, a bit of whatever it is the girls like about Nelson Moku, and Sigma Delta Pi's loyalty and roll them into one. How could we ask for more. Sincerely, La Dianaeda Dear Santa: As Christmas comes but once a year and everyone wants his share, for one thing only will we ask. May he have the height of Gary Cooper and the build of Errol Flynn. Eyes like Don Ameche's and the smile of John Payne. The voice of Nelson Eddy and the dimples of Richard Greene. Please don't forget, dear Santa, the irresistible charms of Cary Grant. In case you're wondering, Santa we just want a man. Mery Christmas from Sophvita Dear Santa: As Christmas rolls around this year As usual Otyokwa is full of cheer. We don't want to take you by surprise, But we hope our wants you'll reaize. It's a little early but after all , We'd like a date to the Snow ball; We have new formals for the dance. We will go if we get the chance. And when you come on Christmas Eve There are things we want you to leave. We haven't succeeded in looking slick But a girdle would help to turn the trick Another thing that would be dandy Is reducing pills instead of candy. We would appreciate any plan Whereby we could get and hold a man. Really, Santa, it isn't quite right That for every fellow we must fight. Of course, it would be up-to-date If new clothes we could rate. If our complexions aren't up to par Please bring us all some facial tar. In our selections we try to be just So our rewards are left in your trust. Otyokwa Dear Santa Claus: The girls of Tiki Kappa Kappa have a Christmas wish this year, Santa Claus. We would like you to bring us the man of our dreams. He must be an ideal specimen of masculine beauty, with Kent Payne's curly hair, Albert Lolotale's physique, Lewis Davis' eyes and his teeth and smile must be as flawless as Kenneth Wheeler's. His manner of dress must be like Harry Olsen's with the same spontaneous personality as that of Jay Olsen. His sense of humor must match Rex McEntire's, and his technique be as profitable as Gerald Welker's. Dear Santa we'll be awfully good between now and Christmas so that in the morning of December 25, we can find this dream man under our Christmas tree, Your best kids, Tiki Kappa Kappa Dear Santa: Since it is getting close to Christmas, and the holiday spirit has enveloped everyone, we have started to think what we want for Christmas. If you really want to satisfy all of our wishes and desires you will leave us a composite girl made up of Weber characteristics. To perfectly satisfy us she must have: The eyes like Beverly Jer-gens, hair like Marjory Farr, a nose like Sophie Reed, a mouth like Dawna Shewell, the peaches and cream complexion of Marie Larson, a figure like Ruth Bowen, legs like Shirley Fuller, personality like Itha Russell, the friendliness of Mildred Taggart, speaking voice of Barbara Sander, singing voice of Mildred McPhie, smile like Marvel Murphie's, sweetness of Clair Lundstrum, ambition of LaVon Earl, dependability like Marian Bader's, a sense of humor like Zada McGill the utter femininity of May Tracy. Chanodo, Vikings Hold Party At South Fork Chanodo and Viking did not let the sun outwit them. The fact that all the ice was melted in the vicinity of Ogden on Friday, December 5, did not prevent them from keeping a date for a skating party. Members and pledges of the clubs climbed into automobiles and headed for Camp Kiesel. They were undaunted by the fact that the road to the boy's camp was covered with four inches of snow. Bravely they started the four-mile stretch to the camp. They finally reached the camp where another disappointment greeted them. They found the ice was covered with about four inches of snow, but the pledges shoveled it off and the ice skating proceeded. Those who did not wish to skate retired to the hills where the main feature was tobogganing. After an hour or two, the party entered the lodge where refreshments were served. Then everyone sat around the blazing fire and sang. Everyone returned home tired but happy. OUR MANY, PATRONS A Very Merry Christmas Happy Neiv Year!
