If it doesn't come to us we would go to it. We have been having quite a siege of the grip. Nearly every family in town has had from one to five down with it, It is abating some now. Thos. Johnson of Overton was in our midstduring the week making arrangements arrange-ments for carrying the mail from here to the Pockets on the Muddy Route, He returned home Tuesday. The infant son of David and Lizzie Findlay died last Friday and was buried Saturday. Words of consolation .were spoken by Elder Horsley and Wilcock, also Bishop Ronnow and Counselers Lee and Wadsworth. We have had a number of buildings erected of late and when our reservoir is completed we expect to have many more new buildings. There is plenty of material for good brick, lumber is within 30 miles, rock at our doors, and there is no reason why all should not have good homes. A number of our citizens are up working work-ing on the reservoir. The work is progressing pro-gressing nicely, and when wTe get it completed we will have a reservoir equal to the Enterprise reservoir near Hebron with less than one fourth the cost. Here is a splendid opportunity for anyone wanting homes; there is plenty of Ood land for from 20 to 60 families; the reservoir will furnish abundance of water; plenty of good neighbors, etc. Anyone desiring information in-formation concerning the project are requested to communicate with E. R. Phillips, Superintendant; A. H. Wedge, Secretary, or Bishop C. C. Ronnow, who will cheerfully furnish any information infor-mation desired. We have been favored by a visit from M. I. A. Missionaries, Elders Hoi'sley and Wilcock. They have been laboring labor-ing in our midst for about two weeks; have held several public meetings with the Saints, and a number of conversational conver-sational meetings with the young men; they have also visited every family of Saints in the ward. Their labors are already beginning to bear good fruits, which is shown by the increased attendance attend-ance at our Sabbath schools and meetings. meet-ings. The people here have been given much good instruction and no doubt much good will come from their visit. We would be pleased to have more visiting vis-iting brethren with us. The brethren made such an impression on some of the young folks that they would not let them leave till they had given them a party in our new hall, and I'll tell you Elder Wilcock can dance as well as preach. Elder Horsley says he is too old to dance, though he can sit in the corner and talk with the ladies. . |
