Show Lieut. Waldo Romney and Bride Honored Here With 'Open House' Program The St. George L. D. S. Institute furnished a delightful setting Sunday Sun-day evening, May 9, when Mrs. I Roxey S. Romney held open house honoring her son, Lieut. Myles Waldo Romney and his bride, the former Janice Clark of Denver, Colo. A large number of friends and relatives called during the evening. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Perry Clark of Denver. The couple were married in the Salt Lake L. D. S. Temple Tuesday, May 4, a dinner at the Lion House following the ceremony, cere-mony, being given by the parents of the bride. For the Sunday evening affair the bride wore her wedding dress of white slipper satin, with yoke trim of seed pearls, and with circular cir-cular train. The groom was in full military uniform. Standing with the couple was the groom's mother. Assisting in tha serving room, were Mrs. Mathew M. Bentley, aunt of the groom, and Mrs. Glenn E. Snow, pouring; with Miss Adelia Hall in charge of serving. assisted by Miss Rhoda Cannon, Betty Lou Gardner, Willa Rae Lewis, Mary Cheney and Elaine Cannon. Receiving guests were Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Davis and Mr. and Mrs. Cummings Gardner of Los Angeles. The two women are sisters of the groom. Lieut. Romney was graduated April 30th from the Quartermaster's Quarter-master's school at Camp Lee, Va., and returned to Fort Douglas for re-assignment; the marriage and their short visit in St. George, occupying oc-cupying His furlough. The couple returned Monday to Salt Lake, and the bride will go on from mere to ienver to maKe ner nome during her husband's absence on military duty.' 1 ; z , . |
