Show GIONE R NO 9 1 ES gt STU this community was shocked last thursday evening when a telegraphic message from salt lake announced the death of geo R lund in a hos pital there he had gone to salt lake on professional business mr lund had been troubled tor for some time with gallstones he left here dec dee 23 for cedar city on pro tess fess lonal ional business and on arrival at cedar city was suffering intense pain he got medical attention there and some relief he went on to salt lake where he was advised by a physician to undergo a slight operation tor for relief he ile submitted to this operation but it is alleged that his physicians neglected him in consequence of which he died of blood poisoning after being removed in a critical condition to a hospital where he died at 8 6 0 clock on thursday evening george romney lund was born in this city on sept 23 1874 a son soil of robert C and mary romney lund As a young man he studied hard to fit himself tor for his chosen profession a lawyer and diligently strived to advance himself in this profession while associated with attorney D D houtz at provo for about a year 23 years ago and while serving as store keeper at the dixie copper smelter at shem later he became a bright and energetic lawyer and served the city and county several times as city attorney and county attorney at the last general election he succeeded himself as county attorney which position he held at the time of his death he was of a genial and kindly disposition and had a large circle of friends who regret his untimely demise he was married december 23 1887 1807 to andrus a daughter of the late james andrus and of this union nine children were born he lie Is survived by his widow and the following child children reh mrs D B aleath potter provo laura body be dead and that we will again take up our bodies and that our lives hereafter will be a natural result of the lives we have lived here the elements of our bodies are eternal indestructible thus it is only logical to believe that the spirit also is immortal and this is the belief of the latter day saints we believe that in the lord s own time the spirit and body will be re united and that has been devoted to his mother wife and family they have six phildren living and three who have passed away george lund s earthly record Is now closed and he has gone to his hn maker tor for judgment and reward we will ba be assigned to the positions that our lives merit la in our father a kingdom we believe that this life is only a space in the ebern ites of our lives said his heart goes out in sympathy to the mother and wife who realize their bereavement the most we will always remember george R lund for his name is recorded in both tha the city and county records we are all our leathers
