Show Funeral Services Held At Washington For Jacob Schmutz WASHINGTON, Utah. Bishop Wallace Iverson conducted funeral services in the Washington ward chapel Feb. 17 at 3 p.m., for Jacob Schmutz, 85, who died at his home in Middleton the Sunday previous, after an extended illness. Speakers were Patriarch George E. Miles and Pres. Harold S. Snow of St. George, with closing remarks re-marks by Bishop Iverson. All paid tribute to the sturdy, faithful faith-ful life of the deceased and his good wife, both in their civic and religious duties. Musical numbers included two vocal quartets, "The Lord Is My Shepherd", and "My Father Knows", by W. O. Nisson, Glenn Tobler, Agatha Sproul and Mildred Nisson; vocal solo, "Lay My Head Beneath the Rose", by Mrs. Nisson, Nis-son, Cuba Hall accompanying these numbers; and violin duet, "In A Garden", by Milton and Stanton Schmutz, with their mother, Mrs. Donald Schmutz, accompanying. ac-companying. Prayers were by John H Schmutz of St. George and Bishop Arthur Barlocker of Enterprise. Burial was in the Washington cemetery. |
