Show Charles F. Empey, 67, Dies Monday; Funeral Sunday, Jan. 21 Funeral services are planned for Sunday, Jan. 21 at 4:30 p.m. in the South ward chapel for Charles Fielding Empey, 67, who died suddenly sud-denly at his home at 9 a. m. Monday, Mon-day, Jan. 15, of complications after 19 years of suffering from diabetes. Bp. James Andrus will conduct the services. Charles Fielding Empey was born Aug. 13, 1877 in St. George, a son of William and Martha Fielding Empey. His parents were early L. D. S. converts. He had his schooling in St. George and at an early age learned to handle horses. For many years, especially during the boom days of the Dixie mines, he was hack driver. He has also freighted, farmed and worked at the old Dixie smelter. During recent years, he has taken special interest in his home garden, fruits and grapes. Talented on the accordian, his services were frequently in demand de-mand for small parties, dances and other events. On March 14, 1900, he married Ida Terry of St. George. They were the parents of four daughters, daugh-ters, three of whom survive with their mother. These are Mrs. Ef fie Miller of Payson, Mrs. Ruth Gubler of LaVerkin and Mrs. Ida Messer of Tribby, Kentuckey? He also has one brother, Heber F. Empey and . a half-sister, Mrs. Mary E. Thomas, both of St. George, a Half-brother, Arthur Empey of Burley, Idaho, 13 grandchildren and one greatgrandchild. great-grandchild. Sunday has been set for the funeral services awaiting the arrival ar-rival of Mrs. Messer from Ken-tuckey, Ken-tuckey, and other relatives. |
