Show PACK REPORTS FAVO RAB LE ON BLOOMjNGTON Noted Geologist, on First Visit to Property Says It Is One of Most Promising Domes He Has Studied Ct. F. J. Pack, famed as a geologist ge-ologist in the western section of the United States, and professor of geology at the University of Utah, together with seven members mem-bers of his class, stopped over in St. George Saturday. The party is on a tour of southern Utah, studying study-ing the various formations and faults and gathering specimens for the U. Under the auspices of the chamber cham-ber of commerce the members of the party were taken on a tour, visiting among other points of interest, in-terest, the Bloomington dome. Having Hav-ing never studied the formation on this particular structure, Dr. Pack expressed an especial wish to be taken to the Mid-American well site. Nearly three hours was spent in that section, at the conclusion con-clusion of which Dr. Pack expressed ex-pressed himself as very favorably impressed with the prospects. Hs said it is one of the most promising prom-ising domes he has ever seen, and that from all indications it is hermetically sealed. However, only drilling to depth will tell the story, said Dr. Pack. Statements such as these coming com-ing from a man of such prominence promi-nence in the field of geology, are highly gratifying to those interested inter-ested in the local field. After leaving heTe Dr. Pack and his students went to Hurricane, and plan to visit Zion, Eryce and the Sevier country before returning return-ing to Salt Lake City. In the party with Dr. Pack were the following fol-lowing students: Geo. O. Gates, Arthur Potts, Wilton Ivie, Misses Fox, Fairbanks and - Potter, and Mrs. VanCott. |
