Funeral series ser-ies were held today for Valeria Stout DeMill who died June 17. Bishop philetus Jones took charge of the services. Music was furnished by a ladies quartet consisting of jjesdames Lamar Terry. Ethel De-Mill. De-Mill. Mary C. Hirschi and Miss Myr-,Ie Myr-,Ie Dalton. Mrs. Ivy Wilson and Mrs. Kate Allen of Hurricane sang a duet. Prayer was offered by Freeborn Free-born Gifford. The speakers' were Bishop Thornton Hepworth, Bishop Oliver Gifford, David Hirschi, Isaac Langston and James Jepson. The closing prayer was offered by William Wil-liam R. Langston. The grave was dedicated by John ,R. Crawford. There were many beautiful flowers. Valeria Stout was born May 23, 1S91, at Rockville. At the age ot eight years she moved with her parents par-ents to Mexico, where she resided for ien years. In 1912 she graduated from the academy at Colonia Juarez and in 1912 taught school at La Verkin. Ver-kin. She was married May 14, 1913, io Roswell DeMill at St. George and returned to Rockville to make her aome. She died Thursday June 17, 1926. In addition to her husband she leaves the following young children, child-ren, Fae, David C, Horace, Abner M. and Melva. Her parents, one sister, Mrs. Madona Smith of Portland, Oregon, and 15-half brothers and sisters sis-ters also survive. She will be sadly missed among her associates and the sympathy of the community goes out to her dear ones in their bereavement. bereave-ment. Among those attending the funeral of Mrs. DeMill were: Mr. and Mrs. Warren Cox and Mrs. Lizzie Cox of St. George, Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Stout of Cedar City, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Stout of La Verkin, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Stout of Hurricane and a large number of relatives and friends from both Hurricane and La Verkin vhose names we failed to learn. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar DeMill an-aounce an-aounce the marriage of their daughter, daugh-ter, Miss Delia to Jesse Gale of Bluebell, Blue-bell, Duchesne County. The marriage marri-age took place at St. George June 15. A reception was held the following Evening and was attended by about, io guests. The young couple left here on the 20th for Duchesne, where they will nake their home. Mr. and Mrs. David Stout of Logan, Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Stout of Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. Don Black of Hyrum and Emerald Stout of Black-ioot Black-ioot Idaho, are here to attend the funeral of Mrs. Valeria DeMill. Mrs. Heber Hirschi took her son Clare to Hurricane last Saturday to receive medical attention. Clare was thrown from a horse, cutting a. ieep gash in his head. Ozro and Conrad DeMill came in from Kanab to attend the funeral of Mrs. Valeria DeMill. Mrs. Mary C. Hirschi is home from a two weeks' visit to Provo. Daniel Hirschi made a business trip o Hurricane last week. |
