Show FORMER DLXIEITE LAID TO REST IN ST. GEORGE CEMETERY LAST THTJRS. Funeral services for Mrs. Josephine Jose-phine Christiana Hammon, who died April 9 at Los Angeles, were held in the stake Tabernacle at 4:00 last Thursday afternoon under un-der the direction of Bishop Harold S. Snow of the South ward. The opening prayer was offered by Pres. W. O. Bentley. Speakers, Richard S. McAllister. Pres. Georg..F. Whitehead and Bishop Snow told oi her wonderful wonder-ful faith and her desire to fill her mission and help her children fill their missions in life in righteous-nes.. righteous-nes.. They spoke of her fine family fam-ily and the work she and her son, Trent had done in the Temple here. To this union tour children were born. Tnev are: Val and Trent Robert of St. Ceoige and Rulon and IVis-cilia IVis-cilia ol Los Angeles. Siie had U'en active in church work throughout her life whenevel her health permitted. The family moved from Huntington to Idaho 'in 1911 and to Los Angeles in 19J3. Thev came to St. George in November' 1935 and built a home ; here so they could hoik in me ( j Temple. Her health became worse last November and she went to Los Angeles and died in a hospital there at 11:30 April 9, from heart- : trouble and complications. Fun- ! eral services were held there before be-fore the body was brought to St. i George. I During her slay here she had won the love of many of the people she associated with. She had great faith and was anxious to regain . her health so she could accomplish more good. Prior to her arrival in St. George she had done considerable work in the Manti and Salt Lake Temples. Her husband never joined the church and conditions arose nec- j essited her getting a divorce some time ago. He is now residing in I Idaho. ' Besides her children she is sur-' sur-' vived by the following brothers and sisters: Hyrum Jonson, Delta; (William Jonson, Huntington; Mrs. Otilda Lott and Franklin Jonson, Menon, Idaho. |
