Show PACIFICATION OF CRETE. The Sultan Will be forced to accept the Flan of the Powers. Rome, Sept. 2fi. Great Britain, Russia, Rus-sia, Fance and Italy have entered an agreement to the pacification of the island of Crete. The scheme has for some time been drafted, but its enforcement en-forcement was delayed to invite the participation of Germany, which country declined. The powers will send an ultimatun to the Sultan summoning him to accept ac-cept the project and informing him that unless he does so measures will be taken to enforce his compliance. The powers have irrevocably decided to settle set-tle the Cretan question immediately, and will not hesitate to send their fleets to the Dardanelles and beyond if necessary. |
