And they do nothing about it. If one or two citizens complain about a scandal to their elected officials, they know what they plan to talk about. If a group of citizens share their opinions together, it carries a lot of weight with politicians. It proves to them that the issue is important enough that people will make the effort to take some time off from other activities to visit them. If a whole bunch of citizens share their opinions, their leaders usually take heed. The second most effective way to express political opinions is by picking up the phone. All three county commissioners have expressed their willingness to accept phone calls at home from the public.
