This is well illustrated by a question asked recently by a prominent man. Will it not be the Plans Sizeable Check for Presentation to Scera b LRST ft ctbf L ' Including Orem, the Business Section of the Sharon District PROVO UTAH, R. F. D. He experience of Scera as it has been with other community organizations that in the course cf a few years one or two individuals will own and control all the capital stock? In the first place Scera has no capital stock, hence no one can own any stock. Even though a person purchased $50,000 worth of Auditorium bonds he would own no more of Scera than the man who had purchased no bonds. The ownership will always remain with the entire membership of the community unless it becomes necessary to sell the building to pay off the bonds. To quote from Article III of the Articles of Incorporation : This corporation shall have no capital stock, nor shall any member at any time, either upon a dissolution of said corporation, or in any other event, be considered to be the owner, or entitled to any extent to any of the assets, funds, or property of said corporation, all of which assets, funds, or property shall be exclusively and FOREVER devoted to the charitable, beneficial, social, and educational interests of its members as outlined above. Any person who is the head of a family or an unmarried person over 18 who is of good moral character is eligible for active membership. Last year the membership fee of 50c was paid at the same time the Voice of Sharon subscription was paid. If you received a receipt at that time, which 1620 families did, you are a member in good standing. All members of an active members family are associate members who may enjoy all the privileges of the association except the right to vote. The corporate powers of the association as given by the State of Utah are vested in nine trustees who are elected at the annual meeting held each year on the third Monday of September. The Board is directly responsible for all the activities of Scera and determines the policies of the organization. The Board appoints all managers, chairmen and committees as well as the secretary and treasurer- .- The building of the new community audfnrium, community Bwimiiiii'g pool, dance pavilion is directed by this Board. In next weeks Voice of Sharon will be listed the purposes and objectives of Scera as given by the Articles of Incorporation.
