For Orem Dy Business Men A Column of Comment Wise and Otherwise What a rare picture those 390 grade stheol kiddies from Spencer, clotbtd in their springtime costumes, made in the opera a few nights ago at Lincoln auditorium. The finale was extremely pleasing not only to the eye but to the ear. Tuneful song3, with catchy wo.ds and costumed performers di Lghted the large audience. It was the "best eyer, many declared. We aalute Principal Hebert-aoW. N. Vernon, director, and that group of energetic and faithful instructors at Spencer who trained the large cast, and thank them all for a delightful evening. Note: Nearly 400 performers on the small stage at Lincoln and some BOO In tlie audience. Is a few too many for an auditorium built to accommodate BOO people. Borne people still wonder If fxtiaron auditorium is needed. Note to Orem Chamber Of Commerce: There are still several miles of wire fences along the old state highway that neither keep anything in or out. Why can't something be done to get the sidewalk south from Lincoln High extended on to the South limits of Orem? Why not enlist among your members citizens of communities adjoining Orem - Pleasant View, Edgemont, Lake View and Vineyard, for instance? We are enjoying the "life and pep you are showing this year. Mayor Jolley, speaking unofficially, believed tbit tbe Town board would read-inily give the water free if the dividual merchauts would s"t up the fountains.
