(Continued Tulv 22. 193 Poultry Day 2 :30 p. m., Giveslmpressions Of Germany A rec nt letter of Arthur R. Watkins, son of President A. V. Watkins, who is laboring as an L. D. S. Missionary in Germany, describes how bathing is done on the Rhein River. It also gives his impression of Dr. Goebels, Germanys propaganda minister, after hearing him give an oration. Arthur writes: Wednesday I was on the Rhein. They have a floating bathing house there and I take my baths on the Rhein instead of the bathing house. Say, I surely do love that old river. You cannot imagine how beautiful it is. Its banks are one continuous line of meadows with trees growing down to the waters edge. I like to lay on the sfde" of the pool in the sun and watch the steady stream of boats going up and down the current. The swimmers like to swim out and catch a slow moving boat going up stream, let it carry them up a ways and then come down again with the current, riding the big waves caused by the force of the boat going up stream. Well, they float down and catch the next one going up. You see, there are about five trailers on some boats auid they move very slowly. Last Saturday I, with sixteen thousand others heard Dr. Goebels speak. He certainly is an eloquent speaker. I could hardly take my eyes from him for the two hours which he spoke. Of course I did not understand every word, but the most of it was as understandable and plain as it could be. There is a certain unity in Germany which I can not help but admire, and it manifested itself that night as the 16,000 stood up and sang their national song and saluted the1, flag. There were only so many people there because of the insufficient seating capacity. Thursday. it'Sunrise Services Grand Carnival Dance at 77 North Univ.
