While a lively campaign was waged, as it should be, we believe no animosities were created. Mayor B. M. Jolley and his entire administration, now that they have been endorsed for the good work they have accomplished, must feel added responsibility for the future. It is pleasing to be appreciated, but it always makes us feel a deeper sense of responsibility for the tasks ahead, says the mayor. During the past twTo years many fine things have been accomplished in Orem. One of the most promising was the organization of a Greater Orem Days" association. Not all that was desired of that organization was accomplished, largely due to misunderstandings. But it still exists, and solely for the purpose of boosting Tor Orem. Great Orem Days visualizes the entire community, more than merely Orem, which is the most hopeful thing about it. Orem really wants to become the center of an area stretching for almost ten miles square around the townsite. But such ambitions entail added responsibilities. Orem must be big enough to take in that much territory, or it never will succeed. And no community is bigger than the men who lead it. That is a sobering thought for all of us. We must be generous to others opinions, forgiving of others mistakes, just as we overlook our own weaknesses, and find excuses for them. never builtr Bickerings, jealousies, touchiness a community.
