He served United States with the first division sent to France in 1917 remaining for 14 months In active service, during which time he was wounded and gassed, and hit by ehrapt el .as he fought In 11 engagements. Both his own country and France cited him for bravery during the war. Funeral services were held Thursday in the Lincoln high school auditorium, burial taking place in the Provo burial park. The American legion directed the services and full military honors were accorded him. Lincoln high school paid tribute in the morning during the school session, two minutes of silence being observed, and then dismissal of school in the afternoon In token of respect to their beloved teacher. He Is spending ten days with his parents before departing for several Eastern Hatcheries located near the vicinity of Beatrice Neb.,, where he will be employed for the coming Chick Hate1 ing Season. Who Built the Tree? Who was responsible for that beautiful Christmas tree atop the Lincoln high school building during the Christmas holidays? In a motor accident near Drage's corner In Orem which seriously injured his wife, Agnes, and his brother Iran and his wife. Myrtle, as the four returned from a New Tear's ere party. Their car was struck by another car driven by Scott Allen Buswell, 18, of Salt Lake City, who was killed instantly by the Impact. Two other youths were riding with Buswell, Wayne Kiddle, 18, and William Newman, 18, also of Salt Lake City. Both were seriously Injured. The accident involved a third car, also travelling north and driven by Leon Jackson of Pleasant Crove. The Buswell car attempting to pass the Jackson car, blew a tire, and went out of control, swinging over the road Into the Farnworth car just coming onto the highway, demolishing both of them. All seven were occupants knocked .unconscious, death taking Buswell on the spot, but waiting until 1.30 a. m. Monday for Farnworth. Reports from Provo and Salt Lake hospltala where the Injured were taken give hope of recovery for the other unfortunate victims. Mr. Farnworth Is well known and beloved by all Sharon stake people, beinf a member of the stake high council, and A beloved teacher at the Lincoln Junior high and the father of six children.
